So Was I, but there is a couple of things you can do.
Pick up some mana reduce nodes

or what I did, run clarity for now. running Clarity plus a inc mana regen on couple of items. I don't touch my mana flask. soon as you have the gear turn off clarity

Another thing you can do is for just leveling is a totem. Sure "ewww totem when this is supposed to be self cast." but honestly, that totem leveling until you can get the equipment or nodes, is really viable.

You mean FB with spell totem? I'm using this and casting firestorm. Can not sustain FB now, it's mana hungry and cast still slow. With firestorm and FB spell totem, i can cast, move and do nice damage also.
Not sure if it's been said before, but if you run Ele Eq with OoS make sure you don't have + damage to fire spells on the scepter as it will proc with OoS and make them fire resistant before the flameblast.

Nycta's lantern is pure gold for lvling, i'm still using it at lvl 81, I beat Merciless lab with and i'm currently in T7 map (don't have better map)

5L and a rare mace will be much better with ~5-8c investmens :)

hey guys Im back on PoE since a really long time and im trying this build. noob question: can someone explain to me how elemental overload works with controled destruction? Am I not understanding something? 40% dmg if youve crit in the last 8 seconds but cant crit with controled destruction?

You can crit with controlled destruction. A 100% reduced modifier means your crit chance is halved, not removed. Crits are rare, but that doesn't matter since you're hitting a lot of targets and you only need to crit once every eight seconds.

This is not entirely true. CD reduces your crit chance by 100, so if your crit chance is 150%, it becomes 50%. Since this build doesn't stack crit, it will be reduced to the minimum of 5%.

However, we don't need to crit with FB. The EO buff is triggered by Orb of Storms, which is not linked with CD, so it has its regular crit chance (and attacks much more often than your FB). That's the nice thing about EO - the damage bonus applies to all spells, not just the one that triggered it.

Leveling this build is tricky as fucking hell

Use Firestorm. It's boring and slow compared to melee but yeah.
Anybody got any item tips on leveling from 50-70? I feel like I'm doing shit and i die very easily at lvl 55.

50-70 was the hardest part for me. The build was so much squishier than the life-based builds I'm used to. I kept getting stun-locked until I bought an Eye of Chayula. That helped a lot, I can flamedash out trouble now, but I still got one-shot frequently.

The thing that made it work for me was the Decoy Totem, and I still kind of facepalm thinking how long I went without it. Decoy Totem is absolutely necessary to make this build work. What I do now (on maps) is:

1. Run around and get some packs to follow me
2. Place Decoy
3. Place OoS
4. Get the hell out of there while the mobs gather around the Decoy
5. Throw FB at them and run to the next pack while everything burns to death

I still get oneshot from time to time, simply because I'm terribly under-geared but it's a lot of fun like this. I wasn't able to finish Merciless Lab yet though. I think I need more cast speed on my gear to get a 10-stack FB on Izaro before he oneshots me.

If I did this all over again, I would probably go dual totems first and then spec into this once I reached 70.
Any chance for low life version?
