D3 or Path of exile??
I'll definitely play both games as well as others that come out. I'm a fan. As for which one I'll stick with, there's no way I can say. I'll just have to see how they all play and go from there.

i will try to play both because it is not an either/or situation.

Yes, me too, I'll try both and keep only one because I have a lack of time.

" they will probably release a year apart so you should have plenty of time for both |

" a year apart? with blizzard scheduling... you might get 2 or 3 years of path before d3 comes out :p | |
" This pretty much sums up how I feel. I can't not get D3 but given how long it took for even an announcement of D3, It's hard to believe that Blizzard even thinks of D3 as an important franchise. Especially since most of the people who created Diablo/Diablo 2 don't even work for Blizzard any more. I just hope that PoE has anything that D3 is lacking. " So... which one did they prefer? ;) |

i guarentee bliz considers wow an important franchise its just not in the same league as wow. then again is anyone in the same league as wow?

Well, the people behind Diablo were at Blizz North. Blizzard wanted to remove that and absorb Blizz North and so many of the originals left. So the D3 project I think had to be scrapped and restarted a couple times. That's what I've gathered over the years anyways.
Plus there could be the same scenario that happened with SC1. People said it was orcs in space and they scrapped the whole thing and started over. New devs started over, then some alpha peeks at the game say it is garbage or not new enough, they start over. Or it could be they just spent all their time/money on WoW and when it hit big they continued to support it while trying to hire more staff for D3. I would venture to say that the Call of Duty series is in the same league as WoW. They sold 10 million copies of the last game, pretty quickly. And although they have no fees they are doing the whole "new game every year for you to buy" garbage that Activision apparently demands. |

Both of course. Next year is gonna be so awesome. D2 is the best ARPG ever made. As much as I love the game, that fact is kind of sad considering it's ten years old. It's crown is gonna be taken next year (about freaking time!), and I believe Path of Exile will be the first to take it.
I am a poor freezingly cold soul
So far from where I intended to go |

pvp I guess D3, from what they've shown on blizzcon today/yesterday it looks pretty interesting, with some tweaking and good arenas could be enjoyable as fast paced fps like good old quake or ut :>
Pve on contrary doesn't look promising in d3, hunting achievements after maxing char lvl in 2 weeks is a pure boredom. Ofc some random 'events' or unique instances would make up for this, but not on hardcore which is my point of interest on pve. |
