This might have been asked before but I didnt find it, Why Cold to Fire gem when using Pyre ring? My only guess is that its solely for the stats and not the conversion it does. And if so is it still BiS if no quality?

" Cold to Fire gem is used because it is a 30% more damage multiplier for initial hit damage. It adds 30% because the skill itself is cold so it applies 30% of your main damage on top as fire. I just respecced to this build from running flamestorm and i love it so far. I do have one question though, i watched your stream and your character profile and it seems as though you have changed some gems. Could you explain why? Would really appreciate it. Again, thank you fpr contributing. | |

I am running a build that definitely has some differences but is the closest thing I've found that's active and can keep an eye on for ideas. I'm not sure how you're proc'ing Ele Overload consistently. Last league I had it tied to Inc Crit Chance but I would like to tie it to CoH setup with the 2 curses and that doesn't leave room for the Inc Crit. Is there something I don't see here that lets you be more consistent about it or is you're natural crit chance just high enough? I had considered Blade Vortex too but I don't wanna start messing with it unless I know it's worth it.
Also, do you not use a golem? I was thinking of using stone golem and vitality aura in place of Grace since I will use Righteous Fire instead of Flameblast (Marauder) but I didn't see you having any golem. Last edited by Nubs1201 on Dec 8, 2016, 11:26:51 AM

" I am running the same gem links for damage skills and just testing some of the utility options like a Vaal breach gem. One major difference in setup would be choosing to run a CwDT setup or using shield charge as a movement skill. I currently don't have a dual curse option on my character so my gem links are slightly more flexible. If you have any more specific questions about a setup or the build I will be happy to asnwer. " I think of Elemental Overload like the rotating Witch Ascendancy where I don't have it up 100% of the time but it's worth having because even 40-80% of the time having 40% more damage is very significant. When I am mapping it is very easy to maintain the buff by simply using Orb of Storms on a pack before casting Vortex (I only need a crit every 8 seconds to maintain the buff). Even if I assume I will have 40% more damage only 50% of the time that is very significant damage for 1 passive point. Using a Golem (or 2 Golems) is an option for the build but you will have to give up other utility options such as shield charge for movement. I would only choose a golem option for HC to combine it with Tempest Shield on CwDT but if you try out RF the stone golem could be very nice on either league. Dark seer still good for BHC? And i can understand hes power, it's rly best weapon for HC? Or just cheap and good?
