So, basically, as soon as I disagree with GGG's policy on stash tabs and/or premium tabs, I am a leech?

" You are comparing a real life situation that has severe consequences to a game in which there can't be, due to the free to play nature of it. So completely pointless comparision. Bots are a problem and so is automation, the two go hand and hand and always cause issues, furthermore interacting with bots\ui is much different then interacting with players, which is one of the goals of the game. If I don't have to go to your hideout and see your stuff, whats the point of me having all this nice mtx to never show it off to anyone? It goes against the very foundation of the microtransactions they sell, so for that reason alone they wont do it. It also goes directly against the "player driven economy" its not player driven if its automated, its bot driven and a cancerous sack of shit, with crazy inflation and if you think flipping is bad now, fucking shit would be 100 times worst after. Automation\AH will never happen in PoE, simply put its worthless to discuss the advantages and disadvantages because it simply will never happen, but I gave you some just so you have some food for though. Here is an example for people with enough brainpower to understand where we are going:
Next expansion an alternate way to level, in the form of an endless ledge, gets introduced into the game, but only available to people that purchase or have purchased the premium characters slots, which previously provided the only option that you can rearrange, change colours or name them (which would be pretty useless imo, like the premium stash tabs were). You can still level the alternative boring way, but not the new one and it would have the same end result. Would that be p2w or not? I would not be against it, i just want people and especially GGG to be honest with themselves as well as with their customers. I'm a forum warrior, i was born to post, raised to defend my league. Their justification ranges between grotesque entitlement, ignorance and lack of understanding how the world works. These people also have years of game time on record with dozens of characters that no one stopped them from making, geared with content they were not required to pay money for and MTXs they earned for free in leagues. After all of the work that GGG put into this game to demand it to be "truly free" is idiotic, childish and will be treated with the kind of contempt such behavior deserves. All it comes down to is people beating their chest and demanding more free things after they are not willing to support the game with the currently reasonable prices (I am only speaking for the stash tabs). " This is nothing short of fear mongering, it won't happen because if it does GGG will lose most of its customer base. The current system sells convenience and you are talking about selling power. Why are you so sure anyone in this thread never spent any money on this game? This is pretty close-minded, and actually completely irrelevant to whether their arguments are valid or not.

Also if they already bought tabs why would they be fighting the good fight here? If you are telling me they spent money and they are here just trying to get more free shit doesn't that just prove my point about how baseless all of this is? If you want to have real hard numbers discussion about stash tabs, go to other f2p games and collect data from what their tab/dollar ratio is. Post it here with a decent sample size of games and we can have a discussion if the prices are fair. Until you do that this is all just whining from brats. A decent sample size isn't 1~2 btw, try 15~20. Nobody is complaining about GGG's prices here. These are the two complaints:
1) Fully gating an important functionality behind a paywall. Nobody is asking for 20 free Premium Stash tabs per person: even a single 5x4 simili-premium stash tab unlocked upon killing Merc Malachai would probably be sufficient to solve that complaint. 2) Making sure that GGG is monitoring closely the stash tabs in order to make sure players have a sufficient amount of starting tabs. With the ever-increasing amount of important items to keep (luckily, gems have been made more accessible, so I guess it balances the addition of divination cards), that is definitely an issue to be wary of, especially when they are creating a new league with this many new currency types (almost 100?). Currently, I am especially worried that they may be adding this league's content to the main game, then doing another similar league with just as many new items you need to keep, just to make sure they are starving players for space. But then, I am not in the development team, so maybe it is something they are already inquiring properly, but we can't know if they don't communicate enough on it. You aren't judging the issue based on what's good for the game and what's good game design ethics, but rather on your prejudice about people that are bringing up an issue that may involve money. Some may have spent some money on the game (you'd be surprised), and some may have other things in mind than their own gains (like, what's best for the game, and what's decent business practices), and that's why you are being viewed as a white knight. |
