Russian prices for Russian players.

GGG has a different financing model, but out of curiosity, if a Russian player wants to play Diablo 3, does Blizzard give them a discounted price from what they charge Americans?

They do. As an example, the Russian price for Diablo III is 999 rubles. The American price is $19.99, which is 1303.84 rubles. More often than not, GOG and Steam also offer different prices for Russian residents.

Yeah steam is localized, although I did buy WoW and stuff on steam in dollars, because even though european both let you do this. Not sure why, because I simply safe money this way. Not that much. But exspecially lately the rubel dropped a lot during the last year, so most companies struggle to adjust prices, because customers would hardly accept such a huge increase. The issue is that it isn't even those companies faults, it is mostly the government either wanting a weak currency for better exporting or just being unable or unwilling to invest into a strong a currency.

The issue with the rubel is not so much that it has a low exchange, other currencies have that as well. It dropped a lot in the last two years. And loans in russia didn't go up, prices however are in foreign currencies (like PoE, it isn't localized) or simply have to adjust. Even if things are still cheaper in russia, prices for import goods still went up.

But honestly, making prices for certain groups still is very odd. Since you might mostly help out the upperclass, because those actually poor have different issues than paying for Stash Tabs and there is no reason to help those out that can.

Actually, the prices are localised (price for points is shown in rubles) in the Russian PoE shop.

That's not localized. That is just the prices run through the exchange. Not sure how often they update them but they should fluctuate based on the exchange rate.

For me the PoE homepage shows dollar and steam always converts into my home currency, which would be euro. Those two currencies are rather stable to the prices stay very constant, although they did change a few times (euro went down after brexit, and since the prices are often not directly update you should have bought in euro there, if they euro goes up a lot during a day, its better to buy in dollar).

But the PoE page should do all transactions in dollars, at least it does this for european players.
if russians are so poor they cant afford it, though.

I live in eastern europe country and paying 50 bucks for supporter packs is a lot to me too, yet im not here to complain about it !!

get to work, and stop buying vodka all the time, maybe then you will save for supporter packs.

YES I support the game, NO I don't agree with many GGG decisions

Lab still sucks balls.

I miss Zana already.
Charge me less, too, please.

Oh wait, everyone would want different pricing. Not gonna happen, sorry.

And I, too, would like that to be a thing, since then I could probably buy myself a unique design. :=)
This will not happen (and should not happen), tho.
Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.
Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge.

Both Steam and GOG show prices in rubles for Russian residents.

Again, you could limit gateway access to combat this. Tested just now, and I've got 30-50ms ping to Texas servers and 300-400ms ping to Australian servers. This demonstrates that while you cannot prevent players from falsely identifying their region, you can punish them for doing so. There wouldn't be any problem with regional pricing schemes, although unfortunately it seems PoE's server placement follows a strategy of best servicing areas with strong currencies.

Edit: Designing a unique should probably be a flat rate regardless of region, though. I could imagine someone buying that without any intent to play the game ever again.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

would be overkill, imo it's not an easy task for the average american or european poe supporter to get a russian credit card.
age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
Well, I suggest to make more low price content like

1) Sell 1 stash tab
2) Add feature to add lesser founds on acc
3) Supporter packs on 20$
4) Add less valuable arts like "just black armor" or "just red armor"

and I am sick of gore in arts. Do people really like it so much?
