Flicker Strike - Seeking Advice!
" On the contrary, I said this twice - in the car metaphor and when I recommended the budget BV build. You have to be realistic about these things.

" LOL sorry. I totally interpreted the car metaphor opposite. Reason might be interesting for you too. Ferrari is considered an expensive race car. Yet is considered the cheapest amongst all snob and show-off cars when compared to Lamborgini or Porsche. I have just started a new hobby of studying about sports cars recently. Here is my new Camaro by the way. ![]() |

Okay I know I'm a poor sob, but for future reference: please tell me if there is a build that can literally run everything in this game.

Not many of us here can afford builds that can run everything. In fact the correct way to play this game is to make builds suited for particular situations and learn to avoid or manually deal with situations that are not meant for your build.
Take for example a high damage build can simply replace an offensive aura with a defensive aura when face with damage reflect. |

So does that mean there doesn't exist a build that can run all content? Let's not worry about costs, I don't care if I can afford it or not - I just want to know.
For example I started now Duelist Facebreaker Cyclone https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1675396. It says it can run 99% of the game content. What that 1% is - I don't know yet because of TL-DR. Probably reflect maps I have yet to experience. PS Yes, I know I said I like fast clearing builds, but if I have to sacrifice speed for survival then it's a fair trade. |

Yes. Build that can handle any situation in POE does exist and they are simply expensive. To make you understand things better let us begin with why that Facebreaker build is far from being able to survive all situations in this game.
First of all, the clear speed of Facebreaker is decent, not extreme. That already fails your first requirement. Secondly, Facebreaker takes away your glove slot as well as belt slot for the necessary equipment to support the build. These two slots would have meant a lot of defense sacrificed if you had instead inserted some nice rare items. This means that most tier 15 bosses will simply 1 shot KO you. Thirdly, Facebreaker is most optimal with HP builds not ES builds. I am lazy to explain to you but instantaneous leech in this game is more suitable for ES builds because it achievable only via Vaal Pact or a particular unique item in this game called Atziri's Acuity(which so happens to be gloves). Without instantaneous leech some bosses can only be defeated by dodging all their attacks. This still qualifies as being able to defeat all bosses but that takes quite a bit of skill to pull off. Saying Facebreaker can survive 99% of the game is far exaggerated. The only reason I can see why the buildmaker thinks this way is because he/she mainly avoids higher tier maps which is what most players do. I have played this game for four years and I have not touched any tier 15 maps. Out of all counterexamples you could give me, I am surprised you went for Facebreaker. |

Let us talk about my friend's build which has successfully become clear all content build in this game.-Low-life blade vortex.
Blade vortex has currently been the most heavily abused build in the game and can handle reflect because most of its damage comes from poison (which is going to be nerfed soon) He firstly started with a normal HP version and could clear all monster packs. Then one day he died to volatile flame blood which has enough damage to kill any average build. He decided that he needed to run bonus maximum elemental resistance flasks. He managed to survive some volatile flame blood explosions and he was happy! So he went further to tier 13-14 maps, then the bonus damage from higher map tier killed him again!. He then realized he needed more bonus maximum resistance. He then realized he had to add the purity of XXX auras for more defense! He then realized he had to sacrifice haste aura to run so many auras. He realized to run all auras he better convert to low-life, so he bought a 6L Shavronno wrappings. (10EX) As a ES instead of HP character now, he instead loses plenty of armor to survive physical hits. What can he do? He then had to replace all the gears in all of his slots with ES armor which costed him tonnes of exalts. One day he died again due to the Obelisk monster pack mod. He realized Shavronne wrappings had too little ES. He decided to completely replace that with a 900 ES armor (50ex??) and instead run Coruscating Elixir to support his defenses against chaos damage. Then he realized he runs out of flask charges often. So he had to run a Pathfinder with all the most expensive flask in the game-VInktars, Rumis and Taste. (10ex) ES seemed like a good way to go but he realized that ES build must rely on instantaneous leech to heal life. Yet most of the damage for Blade vortex comes from poison. What can he do? He realized he had to improve his bladevortex spell damage portion as well to gain enough leech. He bought a Skyforth boots in order upgrade his build into a critical strike version. Now his build can finally clear anything on POE with 5 potion clicks every 5 seconds. Rumor has it he spent 200 exalts on that build. |

Thank you for insight on Facebreaker and Blade Vortex example.
But this still doesn't answer my question of "WHICH is the build that can run anything?" One concrete example would be nice. Just for once let's be optimists and think we have all the exalts in the world. I said that I do not care about costs, yet I'm still being bombarded with reasons why I have to go cheap. I know I have to go cheap. 10 chaos is the most I can spend on piece of equipments at once. But I have that retarded gamer mentality of "Collector/Explorer" that drives me to unlock everything in the game. It's the same reason that drives me to play Flicker Strike even if I cannot afford it/play it badly. Secondly, could you recommend a build that has the best survival? FB Cyclone build received a frown, but only because I picked it because it looked simple enough (yeah I'm dumb but what can I do). All I saw was (99% content) and (tanky). I admit I like flashy builds but I picked Cyclone mainly because I tried it for a little while and it seemed decent, blending the mobs around my Shadow to pulp, even if I have minuscule defenses. In short I'm only asking for: 1) A dream build that can run everything, please. 2) A build that is a survivalist/facetank. ES, Armor, no matter, I just want to go through T15 maps and live to tell the tale. EDIT: How about this FB Cyclone build?: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1482301 Last edited by sqvirel#2180 on Sep 2, 2016, 5:51:37 AM

" Huh? I just answered you that BLADE VORTEX is the build that can run everything as long as you invest 200 exalts. I also answered you that Facebreaker builds are far from what you want. Why are you asking about Facebreaker again??? Did you understand everything I typed? |

Oh. Sorry, my bad. It's just that I heard the name Blade Vortex so many times it just ceased to be an option for me and I was expecting some other build example :P
As for Facebreaker... I don't know, something just pulls me towards it. Maybe because when I hear "tank" I think "armor" not "energy shield". Apparently I don't know what I want anymore... Maybe I just want to have one character I can afford and that can survive through anything. I'm sorry for complaining so much, it just means a lot to me to do it once, but well. |
