PoE is a complete casualfest

I'm happy with it being a casualfest tbh.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

I agree and disagree. Poe is a casual fest of easiness, but rares have been needing a buff for a long time. As a top-tier crafter, the influx of 'tier 1 godly build enabling uniques' has completely undercut and eroded the market for crafting. I look forward to actually investing into crafting and getting a return.

I agree that rares needed a buff, it actually should've happened a long time ago. I didn't mean that it's a bad change, I meant that it should've been accompanied by a general player nerf/monster buff.

It's possible that they're still making the game they want to play, but their wants have matured. They definitely viewed themselves as hardcore 7 years ago. Perhaps now they think it's not so edgy to lock a new shiny sword behind 1,000 hours of grinding, and think that putting behind 200 hours of grinding is better. As people get older their perception of time changes. What seemed like a great, hardcore experience to 21 year old Chris may seem quite different to current Chris.

Great post. Maybe, by some ungodly possibility the game has changed...Since it was conceptualized however many years ago...

This game grew way past their expectations and they've said that in several Q/As and interviews. They have to keep the community happy, and the community is majority Softcore players.

Thats just the stats...

oh ok, so because the majority of community is not 'hardcore' at this point anymore means they can go and tell original fans -fans who picked up the game precisely because it was advertised and touted 'hardcore' - to buzz off and that the game is supposed to be played while watching tv.

seems legit. such loyalty to core fanbase.
Tell me something I didn't already know. Let's give them perma-Fortify. Let's put You have Onslaught while Fortified on community uniques. Let's make sure Gorge stays reasonably competitive with Core for just about everything. Let's give them T14 Gorges. Let's HP-scale traps so they can be trivialized with a few flasks but screw over certain builds, so we can claim they're "hard." People complaining things are too easy? Let's buff damage and attack types despite mobs dying before they get anything off against cocdischarge anyways. There's nothing wrong with normal players getting one-shot as long as the meta builds don't encounter even the slightest speed bump in their constant rampage over endless Gorges. Everything must die in one second or less to metabuilds; we cannot ever buff monster HP beyond that point. etc. etc. etc.

So sick of it. Did I miss anything?
People who don't like the Labyrinth are not a minority: Be heard - say you don't like it in your signature. Don't leave complaining about lab to others - GGG needs to see how many people dislike it. Ascendancy must be gated on true ARPG content, not a poorly-crafted internet Legend of Zelda wannabe.

dificulty depends on how you look at it.

if you are looking it from the perspective of someone playing the strong builds and playing the trading sim to amass a small fortune so you can then buy all the GG items then yes game is easy

problem is that not everyone is playing like that and seting the bar to fit that specific kind of play will destroy everyone below it.

best thing GGG can do right now to rise the bar without destroying everything is make a proper balance between skills and items, builds that can faceroll content should be nerfed and builds that suck should be buffed.

to sum it up put some thought into balance. for instance poe is the only game i know where ranged aoe does same if not more damage than single target melee, let alone things like 1 shooting everything from offscreen.
i mean what kind of dificulty increace would poe need to balance a build that does millons dpm from offscreen???

Without the casuals this game would be an empty husk of garbage. GGG doesn't want that us ''So called'' Perfectionist don't want that, They're the fucking gears that turn this game aka like the economy.

You take out a gear or cog whatever you wish to call it then you will break everything that's fucking terrible.

Make it casual I don't care as long as I enjoy myself it's a fucking game.

The thing is though it's a tricky thing to pull off, because if a build sucks, it should suck. Example: when I first played this game when piety was final boss, I made my first and last sc char. I made a self cast life based shadow with gmp and fork ice spear, just because I thought it looked cool. Slapped cold to fire onto it and scaled both because I thought that would be edgy. I didn't invest in any defence at all, and it was terrible. Terribly ineffective. And it should be.

The game as it is now caters to the player that just started the game. Right now players with 3+ years of experience are very adept in creating insane synergies, and their builds trivialize the content. In the meantime, the game is getting EASIER.

But guess what GGG - in this game you have a third-party trading site as main form of item exchange. Clarity of mechanics is terrible, not explained in game at all. I had a friend play this game lately. He picks up srs, and I'm like "yeah that's gonna be easy for a newbie, great". Tagged as "fire". How the **** is he/she supposed to know going fire damage in passive tree won't help at all? **** wasn't clear to him even though I was there to explain it. There are tons of examples like that. Look at the questions that come up on reddit or in gameplay help here. Come on.

Game is made for the hardcore player, but the difficulty is made for a casual.

How long till you loose both?

Same here, I don't see the problem with it.

If the community here are calling this game casual in it's current state, I can't imagine what they consider Diablo 3 to be with these standards.

PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!
