Top RPG of all time!
I played many RPGs, and loved them all. But even though I've played many, each one better than the other, tho only one that truly made an impact on me, was TES III: Morrowind.
No other game to date has "marked" me as Morrowind did. I consider Skyrim to be better than Morrowind in a lot of places, but it can't take Morrowind's place. Maybe because Morrowind was my first game, of that caliber >.> Last edited by lupasvasile#5385 on Jan 27, 2012, 12:31:15 PM

For me it's Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines - a cracking game (once the bugs were ironed out) that despite a bit of a poor finish showed what could be done with a traditional RPG in 3D.

Hrm. It's funny to see all the games listed in this thread. It goes to show how diverse an interpretation three letters can have: RPG - Role Playing Game...
My best memory of RPGing is pencil and paper and dice playing Advanced Dungeons & Dragons afterschool and on weekends at a friend's house... We would have marathon sessions that went into the wee hours of the night. The closest experience I have had to replicating that on a computer is Neverwinter Nights. The most fun? A toss up between Bards Tale and Ultima Underworld. Probably rose-coloured glasses, but hey... "We were going to monitor the situation but it was in the wrong aspect ratio."

The best I've played so far is Diablo 2. Still, D3, TL2 or PoE might break that record =)

" And great atmosphere, real shame about the ending but the first part of the game is amazing. The game that managed to make you feel both a powerful predator of the night while at the same time giving you a sense of vulnerability. " Don't need rose-coloured glasses to appreciate Ultima Underworld. I still remember freaking out on the very first level of the Stygian Abyss when I suddenly ran into a giant spider and the thing reared up on its hind legs to attack. And the rune-based spell-casting was pretty cool too. Just like a penguin in bondage.
