As huge of a Dialbo fan as I am, having playing D2 for 5+ years, and will be playing the hell out of D3 because there are things about it that I truly do like (though some I very much don't as well), PoE is far-and-beyond superior to D3 in various ways.

The visuals that GGG have crafted for PoE are astounding for a game in the dungeon crawler "RPG" realm are astounding. The detail, lighting and atmosphere are incredible.

General level design, along with the atmospheres and general aesthetics are fantastic.

The game's mechanics are unique in various ways from any other game in the genre of dungeon crawling RPGs, and there's far more customization than D3 is offering by a long-shot in terms character builds, equipment and alteration of equipment stats etc.

GGG is nailing it, hands-down, and definitely doing things right. Even with a F2P game, it's clear that it's not "pay to win", and they're not handicapping players by leaving out the important things and trying to get people to pay extra to a have a full, complete game and experience.

I've been in the BETA now for two or three days and am actually, for the first time in a long time, I'm actually truly impressed with a game in these times when there's been so much garbage released and games half-assed at best.

If GGG makes this a truly expansive game with good replay value, I'll be spending a great deal of time with it, even despite the fact that I will still be playing D3.
