" All 3 of them are clones of Dune 2. Also have played D3 beta, its an awesome game but it lacks any sort of atmosphere resembling the diablo series. The dialog and quests and NPC interactions are all "healthy" in the psyhological sense. Maybe they'll have gripping cutscenes in the full game that give it that dark forboding story, but i doubt it. We've been starving for some good aRPGs for a while and you guys are fighting each other over which one is the best? Wow, I mean we are due to get at least 3 great aRPGs this year alone. I can't wait to buy and spend money for and in all 3. LOL what happen to just enjoying games...so much hate for games that aren't even out yet...

Looked at what Blizzard is doing with Diablo 3 and was a bit annoyed with how its being treated, is it even Diablo anymore? Plus if I'm going to play an rpg that requires 24/7 online, I'm playing the game that does it right.

As huge of a Dialbo fan as I am, having playing D2 for 5+ years, and will be playing the hell out of D3 because there are things about it that I truly do like (though some I very much don't as well), PoE is far-and-beyond superior to D3 in various ways. The visuals that GGG have crafted for PoE are astounding for a game in the dungeon crawler "RPG" realm are astounding. The detail, lighting and atmosphere are incredible. General level design, along with the atmospheres and general aesthetics are fantastic. The game's mechanics are unique in various ways from any other game in the genre of dungeon crawling RPGs, and there's far more customization than D3 is offering by a long-shot in terms character builds, equipment and alteration of equipment stats etc. GGG is nailing it, hands-down, and definitely doing things right. Even with a F2P game, it's clear that it's not "pay to win", and they're not handicapping players by leaving out the important things and trying to get people to pay extra to a have a full, complete game and experience. I've been in the BETA now for two or three days and am actually, for the first time in a long time, I'm actually truly impressed with a game in these times when there's been so much garbage released and games half-assed at best. If GGG makes this a truly expansive game with good replay value, I'll be spending a great deal of time with it, even despite the fact that I will still be playing D3. |
