very bad league ;(

Prophecy is completely un-challenging and therefore boring. Dem Perandus chest spammers were more challenging than the whole Prophecy league.

The only OMG moment I remember is a Warband spawn and devourers prophecy, that both happened in the first Merc Lab run I did. Other than that, yaawwnnn...

Granted there's a few prophecy chains that I havent seen yet and never will - because they most likely have an absurdly low spawn rate, that will require 500 hours of gameplay just to experience another variation of "equip X item while killing Y mob"... nty.

E:
Oh, and map drops are quite crappy for me this league. So add that to the boredom & un-fun factor. Chisel, chaos spam, pack size, add frags... still have to buy maps.

I love how people hate on Good Rewards and say Prophecy is good because its what exactly? Hard? Challenging? What is it?

Whats wrong with having a rewarding experience, or at least experience that pushes us forward.
Someone mentioned "now you have to make a choice", what kind of nonsense is that? What choice, where?

I choose will i do prophecies, or to skip them and just do maps?
What kind of new league mechanic is that?

Yes parendus spoiled everyone, but spoiled with what is the question?
Finally people played 5+ builds and did all kinds of weird and unique crap.

I argued that parendus was lame, but not because he gave us better loot, but because he brought nothing that couldnt have been done with a simple IIQ IIR increase across the board.

And for all the children who spout " You need to work hard and suffer to get rewards " mantra, wait till you start the job/family process then tell me how you need to suffer to progress in a game too.

Nobody complains that the prophecies are too easy, or too hard. THEY ARE BORING and again, like the labyrinth, they are COUNTER to what ARPG is OR if you are a purist, they force you to go BACK in a game where you come to MOVE FORWARD AND GROW IN POWER WHILE OBLITERATING BAZZILIONS OF FOES.

Dont confuse TEDIOUS with HARD. This is what PoE offers now... i am an absolute god when it comes to power but a god that has to move slowly, wait for darts to pass, go back to pathetic zones to kill monsters that die from my CWDT frost wall.

Chris and GGG should go back to that manifiesto they published couple of leagues back where they "explained" what they LEARNED from past leagues and what players expect/want.

Clown Fiesta Galore is what this league and its mechanics are.

Collecting coins again, SUCH INNOVATION... AMAZEBALLS!!!

give me a break
suggestion for next league from me please do whatever you want but try not to add something that impact on economy so hard... fuses ratio 3:1 alts 20;1 -.- and uniq items worth jackshit , ty where is the time when there was legendary items ;) that u have actualy play tons of time to obtain, like shav 40 ex and so on and so on... its a farm game not an pvp mmorpg so where is the fun when u make a farm game too easy to farm -.-

Backtracking is fucking awful.

But at least Perandus League had the promise of great gear to be purchased. The few prophecies that lead to a unique gear as a reward are done in the all too typical "gated behind rng" style so that probably less than 1% or 2% of all players will ever get one of them.

GGG did an experiment with Perandus League and it was wildly popular based on daily players and then takes it away and wonders why their player counts are dropping fast in only 2 weeks. Come on, get real GGG and players you too. The whole reason to play any arpg is to be chasing the "carrot on a stick" in front of us. The carrot of PoE is the T1 uqique gear to make the leveling grind in the 80s and 90s more palatable. Since T1 gear is always such a low rng drop chance (which is understandable that they can't drop like rain... but desert droughts of never in years of playing do we ever get a T1 drop is equally bad), the Perandus temp league where this can happen after only 3 days into playing the new league:

made it the most fun for me and many, many other players based on the stats.

For those that always say Cadiro Perandus caused deflation, other than the flippers that are playing the PoE commodity broker game (who deliberately plays an arpg to only focus on that?) most of us are extremely happy that GGG took the chance and gave us all the opportunity to get a carrot or a few (a T1 item) for 3 months. Now that it's over I'm not surprised at all that this temp league is going to be low players real fast. Nothing after Perandus league can ever top it (or at least GGG will have to really work hard to). Prophecies may have sounded great in theory but the realities of it are such that the rewards for completing a prophecy are so low that it is just another type of boring drudge work.

When will GGG realized that they can produce a fun to play hardcore arpg without needing to keep us gear starved all the time. And to all that say gear starvation is done on purpose so that we will engage in trading. Hey GGG, how about giving us a way to trade that is easier and then we would want to trade? Oh right, we don't want trading to be too easy either. I guess Joshua was right all those years ago: "A strange game. The only winning move is not to play. How about a nice game of chess?"

It's insane that GGG has equated "hard to play" with "hardcore". I've even read a post or 2 where a player was actually defending "desync" (before lockstep there was PoE: The Desync Edition) as it made PoE more "hardcore". Wow, no wonder we get idiots in our (USA) government if people will buy into this kind of bullshit thinking.

It's frustrating that I always have to state this, "I'm not wanting a rain of T1 gear in PoE" as my wishing that GGG would open up the drop quality of unique gear in the endgame maps (no more leveling uniques please) so that we can get a few pieces of T1 gear to support our latest builds will always elicit a few troll posts back that I want a watered down difficulty. HELL NO! I'd love PoE even more if GGG increased the difficulty of the white and blue mobs, keep the one-shot deaths to a minimum, don't allow reflect to work if the creature is off-screen (how the hell can I know not to shoot it because I'll one-shot myself if I can't see the damn creature to read its stats to know it has reflect?), remove Alt-F4 as an instant escape from death (if lag doesn't get me dead first), increase the quantity of mobs on every zone or map, and use my total hours played on all builds + my beginning date of playing PoE as a factor to dial up or down Normal difficulty so that newbies get an easy playing experience and vets can get the higher level of difficulty we desire on new builds. Rushing through to maps in one day (some racers can do it in as little as 3 hours) clearly indicates that PoE is too easy for veterans at the low end and all GGG does is increase the XP grind at the high end to slow the race to a level 100 build (and even that isn't stopping the no-lifers super grinders from a level 100 build in under 1 month). Clearly the "one size fits all" in terms of content difficulty is not working and some form of varying the difficulty based on skill level needs to be devised.

i like the concept of prophecy but instead of using a fresh carrot to make you want to go back and explore things they used a rotten brocoli....

realy if GGG wants people to play around and do something else other than gorge spam then put a freaking carrot at the end of the stick.

it dosent have to be some imba item, just something that is worth farming like theme rewards.

for instance make that fire golem next to fiery drop items with fire mods or have a 100% chance for at least one of the mods of items droped to be a high tier fire related roll.

may be even create special mods that can only apear on loot from those specific monsters to encourage some crafting.

the RNG wall is still there but at least there is a carrot to chase.

I just wish that GGG would notice that not all veteran players are top of the PoE pyramid grinders (GGG moderators don't want us to use N-L anymore... considers it too derogatory). But maybe I'm all wet (don't know what the hell is talked about between GGG devs and the top elites such as the State of Exile gang) and just don't understanding why endgame gear starvation of the magnitude that PoE has is such a good way to make PoE be "hardcore". Right now many post that PoE is too fast paced and easy. I have a crit Deadeye Blast Rain Archer that can rip through tier 7 and 8 white/blue mobs so fast that some packs are entirely one-shotted in the blink of an eye. Since I'm only up to level 83 (Perandus didn't offer me a VR bow until the last week of the league) this super fun-to-play evasion archer will only get better. I've never gotten any T1 items as a solo player drop ever playing from CB time so getting a couple of great T1 gear from Cadiro to re-invigorate my desire to grind a build to at least 90 makes all the difference in the world. Cadiro gave me the chance to buy a few super items that GGG normally has gated behind the super low rng chance to drop in normal playing and that is what we need on every league. But the prevailing thinking at GGG is that T1 gear is BiS and once we get enough of them it's "I'm bored, game over, I quit". The opposite side of the coin "I'm not getting anything but shit vendor trash drops in 1000s of hours played, game over, I quit" because the "carrot" is out of reach on a 49½' pole is also extremely bad but GGG always keeps us starved for endgame build gear more than they should and thinking that if we hunger more for a T1 we will play more and ultimately buy more mtx. That will only get them so far in player retention and by pushing the starvation of gear to progress an endgame build to the max GGG is getting a large quantity to quit. The proof of this is the daily player stats of Perandus verses Prophecy leagues.

Ascendancy classes fixed the gear starvation. you do not need extreme gear to steamroll, not any longer.

so while T1 items are 'great' they have lost A LOT of the 'must have' - they are just ways to do stuff. one of at least few.

this solved the issue of 'unachievable and impossible to create builds' while not destroying the 'trade is the most important part of this game'. it is quite elegant solution

but if people are still after 'items' not 'builds' - then i understand why Prophecy is 'boring'

Not disagreeing with you here. I myself leveled 3 or 4 char last league. This league? 2 char and that is the MAX I am willing to do. I will probably play this game through the weekend and then go back to overwatch.

I've had this discussion with myself over the years many times. Every league comes around and I ask myself "Do I really want to do this again?". Usually, GGG times their league starts perfectly in between other major game releases so I never have a conflict.

I'm not sure why T1's are gated so heavily and even moreso in this patch. With 8 points of ascendency the game has become very easy. At this point, certain rare gear are just "build enablers" not really "OP".

When everything is OP...nothing is OP. 1 shotting a mob with 40 ex of gear is the same as 1 shotting a mob with 2 ex worth of gear. I'm also of the opinion that gear that is build enabling should drop readily. Keep super high-dps weapons or things like Skyforth rare as they don't really enable builds...they just make builds better and i guess 1 shot faster?

Who knows. This game has been seesawing for the last few leagues as to what it wants to be when it grows up. All I know is that next major patch better do something about having to play the game 3 fucking times with 4 acts and 4 labs.

Also...for the love of God. Do whatever the fuck you want with gear drop rates...but PLS makes maps up to T12 EASILY ACCESSIBLE. RNG gating new playable tilesets is so retarded. Fuck if I even understand why we have map tiers? why da fack can't we play Tropical Island at lvl 77 if we want? I know zana does this shit randomly so the code is there.

Here was my solution to gating of higher tier maps:

Great solution to the map tier conundrum of not getting enough high level map drops

This would allow us to play level 77 and higher Tropical Island maps.
