Bathrooms should always be based on what private parts you have. You shouldn't be able to go into the wrong bathroom just because you want to identify with that gender. That's like letting a 40 year old man go to some random 8 year old girl's birthday party and slumber party just because he wants to identify with them. It's perverted and wrong.

Well, I'm sure a determined rapist wouldn't actually do it if it was... forbidden to enter the ladies' room. Right?

So what are the stats on people being attacked in bathrooms by somone who identifies or says that they identify as the opposite sex? All this concern surly have to stem from actual events and not simpley fear mongering right?

I think Slayer_Tip's point, while irrational, is common. It seems there is this American trend towards rape fantasies; far more than a reasonable amount of restroom-related thought goes into the crime, when really that's about as logical as continually worrying about getting gunned down Columbine style. There's just something about rape which gets a lot of folks' imaginations going.

I'd also like to add, this mentality today's society has of "do what makes you happy and anyone who tells you otherwise is a bigot" is really messed up.

If you always do what makes you happy, where do you draw the line? Some people get happy by hurting others, whether it be emotionally or physically, especially if it's someone they disagree with.

While we're at it though, may as well separate out Lesbian/Homosexual individuals as well because they are just going to sit in the bathroom and prey on people that come in! Oh wait.

E: Here's an idea! Co-ed bathrooms. If you don't like it, hold it till you get home.
