But, I just gave you currency for your item, I don't need to suck you off afterwards too. This is wraeclast.
well, depends on what kind of discount!

I think I never said "ty", I am more of a "Thanks!" man myself. And once a "Wait..." after a botched sale where I forgot to click one stack of chrom orbs, but I was set to ignore by then.
When you hop to Standard to sell someone a 3c item and they dont say ty........... -.-
I find that people don't say TY when I sell an item cheap. They think they are all badass getting a good deal when really I just don't care and want to sell my stuff quickly.
ty
ty 4 scam <3

What if they try to lowball you by changing the price in the copied poe.trade text? Do you get to say ty for scam?

How are you supposed to make a lower offer btw? I PMed someone making a lower offer on one of their items (it had b/o of 5 chaos, not exact price, so I figured they were happy to get offers). I offered 3 chaos. They didn't even reply to my offer, just invited me to trade. They got all uppity when I only put 3 chaos instead of 5 into the chat box, like I was the one who was in the wrong.

I guess they must have not even seen the offer I made, and just assumed I was willing to play their inflated price. If you are making an offer, is there a particular format that sellers will read so they know it is an offer?
Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

Hi, I'm interested in your (item). Would you consider selling it for (price)?
You have to be realistic about these things.

Yeah, that's the proper way to do it. Players that maintain big shops can't really be expected to remember the price of every item or check it before trade so changing the b/o price in the offer that was copy-pasted from poetrade without notifying the seller is considered a scam attempt.

I've had decent experience with haggling, people rarely get upset as long as you keep your offer within limits of reason, I've had more cases where it was accepted or counteroffered than flat out refused or ignored. That said, haggling is a bit of a shaky ground. Local views will differ so some players may view you as cheapskate if you don't pay the asked price or think you're trying to swindle them and some will actually expect you to try and knock the price a few pegs down.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
