Am I a bad person

Not at all. You are being courteous, even though you may not feel the emotion. While you could just ignore the other person's potential feelings, by taking the extra small step of saying thanks, in whatever form, you are putting their feelings above your own.

So - it makes you a better person :-)

That's what I always say.
When I sell shit I say "Gl :)"

When I buy shit I say "ty gl"
Thanks, take care.

No hello just. " item: currency", then abruptly leaving is pretty rude.

When I was younger, I got scolded pretty hard by some of the adults in my life when I spoke a different language in the company of people who I knew couldn't speak it. Have you never encountered a culture or subculture that discourages communicating in a foreign language? (I could definitely imagine a few, even if I didn't experience it firsthand).

How would you react personally if someone said "вам привет item: currency можно купить?" How would you react if you were from the deep South of the US?

I wouldnt play a game where people speak "вам привет item: currency можно купить?". Bad example. And if I did I would have the common decency to learn please and thank you.
Also, I don't understand your question. It's irrelevant. Why would you play a game where we all speak English if you are discouraged from speaking it?
A) You're reaching and B) I think you know you're off on a tangent. This isn't the explanation. The guy in my example was just plain rude.

I_NO_SAY_TY_JK_SRSLY
I don't say thanks anymore after I had vulgar comments spewed at me for no reason. I sold this player an item said thanks he replies thanks for the trade b word. That was only one incident. Then I remembered it was the Internet where people can hide behind their screens so it's whatever
