Should watch the series before watching the movie. The movie alone makes less sense.

okay nevermind labyrinth, fix dx9 blackscreen instead...
I ended up watching Bakemonogatari yesterday (finishing it probably later today) and it's quite entertaining to say the least.

I reckon its a either you love/hate it kind of anime though.

Gonna look for the follow up seasons as well.

I loved "Erased" that was a good one.

Also "Angel Beats" and "Clannad"/"Clannad After Story" for some feels.

If you are more after action then "Fate Stay Night" or as someone has already said "Hunter x Hunter" or "Jojo". More unusual "Death Parade" was pretty good.

"Sword Art Online" and "No Game no Life" if you can go through the weird fan service.

Were you looking for anything in Particular?

Edit: Almost forgot "Soul Eater" that one is a lot of fun.

Fate stay night had me hooked when i started watching it.

Watched all of it in one go and was not disappointed. Two days well spent.

Recently had a talk with a mate about fan service, i enjoy it if it doesn't detract from the story or actually enhances it but it can be annoying if it is supposed to "carry" the tale.

Highschool DxD is a good example where the fan service actually adds to the MC and the story/comedy aspect.

Currently i am watching "welcome to the NHK" and it's excellent so far.

Watched sakurasou no pet na kanojo yesterday and the day before, i would recommend it, a very good watch.

In which case you should watch "Future Diary".

Can be a bit fanservicy, but I feel it works as a contrast to some other things that happen.

WARNING!!! This one can be a little bit absolutely crazy.

Future diary is "mirai nikki" right?

I watched it till ep 3 or so so far, i am going to finish watching that for sure.

Ended up on it a few days back when i was searching for new stuff and actually watched the 3 first episodes in one go, which basically means i will be watching it entirely in one session quite soon :D

But i got distracted by the weird yet highly entertaining bakemonogatari and welcome to the NHK/sakurasou no pet.

Dayum that yandere roll in mirai nikki though! That's a fine kind of wacko.

Only 3 episodes so far but i can't help but fear/feel for her :D, which is excellent.

Appreciate the suggestion Rob, that one is definitely already on my "to watch" list.

Have to suggest some classics, though be aware the quality of some of these may not be up to par to modern day Anime style but still worth it if you have the time.

Love Hina, Fruit basket, Ah! my Goddess - classic harems.
Guyver - They also made a live action film of this with Mark Hamill.
Azumanga Daioh - A lot of good laughs from this comedy.
Trigun, Hellsing, Ghost in Shell, and Gantz - Recommended watches.

Spoiler
The Anime's that made me re-think life

Elfen Lied, Another, and Perfect Blue.

wow thx, that's a lot of goods suggestions everyone ^^ I will be watching a couple of them while trying to cure my cold.

two other I'd like to suggest they are a little bit old but still very good:
- Vision of Escaflowne
- Gungrave

two good classic that I've enjoyed
+1 to Gungrave.

I played the banana's out of the PS2 games! The memories :D
I loved Gungrave, it was such an original story and it took on theme that I've rarely saw in anime.
