We've had a similar case in these forums a while back and I still don't agree with GGGs policy on this. If you ban someone you HAVE to tell them why they did it. There's no way around that really. (Of course there is though, since it's their game and they can do whatever the fuck they want, just like the owner of a certain trade.ing site. scnr)

But yeah, I can understand the OPs reluctance to play/support the game with bans like these being possible. If that happened to me I'd quit too. maybe. for a while. sigh.

If I am a member of a golf club for example. And the club says you’re banned from this course. We will not tell you why and we are keeping your money.

Or if I pay to see a movie and in the middle of the movie someone comes in and says you are not allowed to watch this movie any longer and we will not tell why and we are keeping your money.

Would that be accepted?

Casinos ban people without proof. Unless you can prove somebody is counting in their head.

All i can say is i have only bought stashtabs and supporterpacks from GGG never from any other party.

I have not tried any Botting programs or whatever.

To my knowledge the only thing that might be considered shady would be the PoEhelper app for Chrome. I have used that a couple of times over the years though and never had any other problems, plus the thread on these forums suggests it would be no problem.

I have contacted support and they can do nothing more. Im permanently closed.

Leveled this Shadow until i got the mails from support and this is the last thing i post/do in regards to this game and GGG.

I think most of you assume im a kid that thought it would be cool to haxx or something.

I can tell you that i'm going to be 45years old in July, and have been playing PoE since it was in Beta.
I can also tell you that as you grow older you start to value time especially more and more, cause due to 'real life' shit you get less and less free time to do stuff like play games and such. That is why I wont spend more time with PoE and i suspect that's why my friend feels the same way...

That is something that has come up over and over again.

But that would be bad for business why would they do that, is a common comment.

Well so is building cars with faults that kill people. But that happens.

Human beings make mistakes.

The bottom line is that the process used for banning people by GGG is wrong.

If they already did their secondary investigation and upheld the ban, they have some evidence. Maybe you used an add on to reduce particle effects or a macro that did more than one action or automated something like flasks. It doesn't have to be a bot or RMT. It could be something that you thought wasn't really a big deal. Or maybe you made suspicious trades with a known RMT account. Could have been a lot of things. But they must have some proof because when they make a mistake, they unban an account when they do the folow up investigation.

I can't agree with OP's frustration because he's not talking about himself. I can understand possibly the banned person's frustration but I can also see that there is no way GGG would just ban accounts with no evidence (why on earth would they ever do that?). I can also understand why GGG wouldn't want to give any information. If they say "you were banned because we caught you using maphack", the person still would not be satisfied "no I wasn't, show me proof I was" and any proof would reveal how GGG detected the maphack. There is absolutely no way possible to give an offender any proof or say what he was caught doing without giving him information he can use on his next account to avoid getting caught.
