I am sorry to say that I will not be able to continue to play PoE because of arbitrary bans.

So OP is saying that GGG is randomely closing accounts with no reason whatsoever?
Sounds like a great business plan to me....

I'm sure they had their reasons, and i'm glad they removed your "friend" for whatever he had done.

it's always been a matter of trust between ggg and their player base.

for me that trust is severely damaged since ggg support announced that they did ban players because of their undisclosed definition of "scamming" and will do so in the future.

out of the blue, with no warning, no signs that they changed their mind about letting players do their thing like they did before. even long time players were astonished (on reddit).

you feel like a idiot because you told players for ages that wraeclast is a unforgiving and lawless island they have to watch their backs and switch on common sense. and then: bam! surprise! we won't tolerate players hurt each other, while they still can legally kill themselves in bandit quests. can they? i don't kow for sure. anymore.

Yeah, about that scamming debacle... This is so stupid on GGG's side. Chose and picking like this feels kinda dumb - playing a scene for people who want revenge on scammers.

And to the OP - lets be honest here. Are you sure your friend didn't do anything shady? Can you ask him, and trust him that he is not lying? Because, you know, he has nothing to lose anyways - he is banned already.
Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.
Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge.
The guy admits to RMT in his first post. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess his friend did the same.

Why is this even a discussion?
If you do not know what happened (as you profess to not know) then you cannot accurately call the ban arbitrary.

Now if, as I suspect, you have an inkling of what was done to cause the ban then it should be shared so we can all decide if it was indeed arbitrary.

As to not illuminating this information for your friend: this is standard operating procedure for any company nowadays. The terms you sign to use the game state that they not only do not need to tell you but also do not even need to have a reason at all. Just as a head's up Steam has a similar set of terms and as your games (through Steam) are loaded through their client losing your account will prevent you from accessing any and all games.

It is definitely a good motivator to follow the rules.
this is not a .org

what the hell they will ban without a good evidence?

Unless you can claim precisely what your friend did, I have to agree with GGG staff.

Hilarious. Where exactly have they said Wraeclast was free to scam?
