I'm planning on starting a dual-wield rapier Duelist, so have been looking for various builds to give me an idea where to start. Thanks for posting yours :)

Anyway, my question is about mana. It seems to me that this build might run into mana problems, or does this build not need much mana or mana regen?

I dont have any mana issues 1-2% mana leech anywhere is all I use. Right now I can actually run 3 auras (grace/hatred/vitality)

Is this SC or HC, kinda want to try DW Duelist in HC and wondering if this is viable

no lol. melee is mostly SOL in HC unless u are HP stacking marauder with max endurance charges.

You solod normal to merciless with +142% to hp, 1.5% hp regen and 15% to all resists from passive tree as a melee? No grouping to outlevel content, no spamming a ranged spell. This must have been the most tedious experience ever D:.

Im impressed.

p.s How do you not instantly die to volleys of arrows, arc, chaos aura, chaos snake packs of 10+ in act 3, boob tentacle machine gun girls, leap slam, flicker strike, suicide bombers, detonate dead, kraityn in general, gravicius, fire and poison bombs, flicker-discharge, charges and rolling rock enemies?

You should be getting insta killed on any of those with those stats, how did you do it? Or did it just take such an amount of time and tedium that its not really worth it?

Don't know the details about how the OP did it but here are some comments from experience about running an evasion dualwield duelist in HC (now lvl 71 and doing maps). Quite a lot more life stacking in the build but otherwise similar.

Archers, chaos snake packs and tentacle miscreations are the most trivial mobs for an evasion character. Taking Arrow Dodging makes you practically invincible against those (only get hit once in 20 attacks).

Leap, Flicker and Golem roll will all have to roll for accuracy. Especially the golems have below average accuracy so it's not unusual to see them miss. Flicker is a bitch to deal with so I usually went to those places last (doing Sins and Bandits before Weaver and only going to the pirate cave after reaching Act 2).

Suiciders can be dealt with by using Decoy Totem.

For Chaos mobs I carried an Amethyst Flask with me. A good idea with any HC character. The bomb enemies were the worst. 75% fire res helped against the fire guys but the chaos ones were a real pain.

Gravicious was killed by utilizing Viper Strike to get past that insane ES.

I also used Immortal Call quite a lot during my journey. That helped a lot against mobs like Kraityn. In my opinion the existance of this skill renders armor almost completely useless in this game.

I take it your build doesnt include Twin Terrors? Im not sure why anyone would get this considering its Weapon Critical Chance only and costs so many points.

I also take it you use Enduring Cry to fuel your Immortal Call?

Also being a Duelist this build cant get Acrobatics + Phase Acro for quite some time.
Ropetus can u post an incrimental build please and an idea of your gearing and gems to see how your doing it in HC?
upload vid, showing stats and running a map plz.
appears the second passive link is not working.

but thank you for posting the build. good to see some people are having success with the duelist. it was the character type that first caught my eye but posts were overwhelmingly negative.

Hi Ropetus,

Thanks for your input - i had just started with PoE and am not liking my templar tank that i first rolled. Very interested in DW/Evasion - can you link your build?

Is DW better than 1H/shield?

Thanks,
