Seriously GGG... im tired of dying to bullsh*t.
The answer is so simple: have the corpses glow "get the fuck out" red for a second or two, then explode.
Warning to the player, without taking away the (insane) damage DD does or rendering it useless as a player skill. And the same goes for every other super-heavy damage/one-shot-potential thing in the game. Guys my chars died literally thousands of times combined in both HC and SC, and while most deaths were player-to-blame - some were complete BS crap which should not be in the game either in their current form or at all. I completely understand the OP. And it's not one thing GGG missed. It's a design guideline saying "if we don't one shot people with BS without warning, this game would not be competitive". Completely false. Knowledge and reflexes are player skills and competitive traits. Give the players a chance to use both. "Bam you die" isn't difficulty. "Incoming giant axe... bam you didn't move you die" is. Like in a certain 3rd-person POV game with things with giant axes. You seem to only be using this one example of the offscreen revenant. This is something that I don't think I've ever been killed by (and I've played characters less tanky than yours), but it's true that sometimes the game throws some extremely tough curve-balls at you. The other day I died due to the sudden appearance of a unique beyond demon who cast vaal detonate corpse to detonate the huge pile of corpses that summoned him into existence. So that sucked. But situations like that are extremely rare, and not entirely unavoidable, and keep us from getting too complacent.
What else, other then that infamous offscreen revenant, has been killing you? |

Softcore scrub complaining about dying in PoE. Really?

Kramurz post directly above mine is the perfect example of a mindless idiotic HC "I'm elite" players response. Playing HC does not hide the fact that you are a moron, especially when you make a post like that one. R. |

I think the most revealing fact here is that OP does not even know how exactly Revenants do what they do.
It's been repeated on this forum over and over - PoE is a game of knowledge, you can't expect to be succesful without knowing the mechanics. Especially on higher levels. The more you depend on forces outside yourself, the more you are dominated by them.

Seriously though, softcore complaints about death are pretty funny. "Oh my 10% exp"... LoL. I just died in HC at level 35 because the game just froze as I approached a Perandus chest. You just shouldn't die at that level and I lost some really nice leveling uniques. I see people complain about that every day but I always thought they had garbage PC's or internet. Now it happened to me, and my PC and internet are great, so I know it's the game. Guess what? I don't care. I will just roll another toon and try again. 10% XP... LoL.

" Lost my lvl 61 yesterday and only have myself to blame. Shit happens, time to try something new. I can understand sc players if they die to freezes or ctd's. Its not their fault and therefore frustrating. Dying to mobs and complaining? L2p. IGN Corelica
