That can be interpreted in many ways, for a game that's been around for so long and stands out so much in the genre that isn't exactly crowded we can't really say it's gaining recognition because you'd have to be living under a rock. Maybe it's been getting more accessible? Maybe more mainstreamy? Even if it's getting worse from a critic standpoint if more people enjoy it can we say it isn't 'more fun'?

What exactly makes a game or a movie 'more fun'? Is it how exciting it is? Maybe how good you're feeling during it, how about afterwards? Is it how well the work absorbs you into its world or how much it engages your mind? Is it 'more fun' if it touches fewer people on a deeper level or a lot of people more lightly?
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

To be honest, i was never the guy who run uberlab for profit or smthin.
I most often just run it once, to get the ascendancies and thats it.
BUT i think the lab is brilliant.
Its one of the things which have really high reward (accendancies) while being deadly if you are not focused enough.
For me it is one of the last things i feel nervous about when i consider to do and also the last thing i really feel so uncertain about, i always overlevel it hard. (well, normal + cruel and merci is a piece of cake since the traps are mostly avoidable).
And ye, maybe its not your simple arpg mechanic they put in it but thats cool with me. Accendancy points, while being pretty strong, arent necessary aslong as you dont build ur char around some of those points. Furthermore in nearly all good offline RPG you could get Top tier items by playing a side-mini game. (Playing cards or pinball and such in FF / Casino games like black jack in Fable)
Also when you see others running it 24/7 in hardcore then you might think: Heey, maybe its more skill based than i thought? And thats actually pretty good.

Many lab aficionados are quick to point out how simply it is conquered by running through with the correct pots, build and gear.
