Labyrinth Checkpoints Please

Checkpoints would completely change how GGG want this challenge to be faced.

I got news for you. GGG doesn't decide who plays their game. The players themselves decide. and if GGG decides to force a crap minigame down my throat, this player will find other things to play. Maybe this is the way they fix their server-load issues! Maybe that's the intention.

They want speed-runs, daily. A leaderboard. They know once people play the Labyrinth a few times they'll be running it so quickly they won't even need checkpoints.

That will never be me. I have neurological difficulties that prevent it. Many players here do. No one will ever force you to use a checkpoint, but it would be nice to have the option to go and do a trade if someone wants to buy my 6-link Atziri's disfavour while I'm in the lab, ya know?

I didn't need checkpoints to learn the Labyrinth. Just a few dedicated hours of doing nothing but paying attention to the game.

Well, Path of Exile IS made by Grinding Gear Games after all.

Embrace the grind or not.

POE is not a game for everyone. The more time you invest in the game, the more you can see your character develop.

Maybe these ADHD people with their multiple monitors, twitch, youtube, reddit...all that, maybe all THEY need to do is pay a little attention too. I find it amusing that so many people who deem me 'crap' at the game are now struggling with something I seem to have picked up fairly quickly. Allow a Ruler his moment, my dear double N.

Personally I find that learnability is one of the most important aspects of game design, and that increasing frustation reduces learnability. I think it's possible to preserve the challenge while reducing the time loss (that's painful, and just introducing HC features in SC).

It would be more friendly to people with few hours to spare too, and more robust to disconnections and FPS drops.

Oh well, it's subjective, I just wouldn't say to others "get good". That's plain elitism and not nice (that being said, the people at level 90 or more that die to this deserve some mockery, :P).

+1 support for checkpoints!

It would be a nice option for some of us facing various issues with memory, lack of time, etc. And wouldn't be necessary for those wanting to speed run it.

Nice to have options available.

the only place they should add check points is right after defeating 1st & 2nd Izaro.

Players who use the check points will automatically lose the armor crafting option, this should give advantages to some people who can do it in a single run without dying.
Isnt going to happen, they have rewards for the first person clearing it daily (think its a jewel) and other stuff.

It seems this is "major content" that has awards more than a normal zone. To bad its unplayable. Bottom line, its a video game, if i have to do something i dont find enjoyable in a virtual world im not going to do it.

Putting great rewards behind this makes me scratch my head after what we have seen so far. You nerf and buff, then make a vital zone non dependant on how strong your char is? Seriously guys, wtf were you thinking?

It is difficult for me to give you much credit if you feel that 'a few dedicated hours' is no-life syndrome when all you've done is post a hell of a lot here the past 24 hours, beloved subject.
You can keep your love. AND your credit.
I'm not your subject. I think you have me confused with someone else.

At first I thought checkpoints were kinda necessary, but now I realize it was just cos Izaro was way too tanky and half his attacks are one-shots that made the runs frustrating. But then again, I thought GGG would for once release content that didn't mean I'd have to have a billion dps or spend twenty minutes running in circles until I get hit once by Izaro and have to re-run the whole labyrinth to try again.
Check points are like eternal orbs or Vorici's 1500 fusings ? I never had chance to use but I'm fine with those options.

What kind of price you guys are looking for check points btw ?
Everything I do should be wrong so please correct me if I do it right <3

I'd much rather have THE PROBLEM (DCs and crashes) fixed, and not the consequences patched. The fact you have to run Labyrinth in one run makes in more exciting, and I'd like it to stay that way. Crashes must go, tho.
Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.
Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge.
