Labyrinth Checkpoints Please
I was enjoying myself in the Labyrinth. The monsters were easy, as I over leveled to take it on. I was in the last zone before Izaro, after two hours of navigating that stressful deathtrap without dying. Suddenly, I click a "mysterious dark altar" and disconnect, losing all my progress.
I know I cannot be the only person playing who does not necessarily want to grind through two hours of the same instance at once, hoping to god you don't experience any lag. I don't think it an unreasonable request to add a checkpoint after each Izaro stage, or at least a checkpoint at the half way mark so that players can at least be assured that they aren't wasting their time if they have a poor connection, or simply do not wish to sit at the computer for hours on end without pause. Keep it as is if you die, but at least give players a chance to break this thing into pieces if they need to, as it is quite demotivating to know you either don't have the time or the opportunity due to circumstance to complete the challenge. Some players don't even play for more than an hour at a time, and there is simply no way to complete the Labyrinth as it is within a reasonable amount of time. I understand this game is built for hardcore players, and I appreciate this under normal circumstances. But this is one instance where I believe it to be in dire need of a compromise. Signed, A guy with an unstable connection, and sometimes less time on my hands than I'd like. Last bumped on Mar 9, 2016, 6:15:03 PM

I completely second that labyrinth should have checkpoints. Don't think it breaks anything or makes it abuseable. Checkpoints can automatically be wiped once final Izaro form is defeated for concerns on reruns.

I disagree with that, the fact that it has to be done in a single row is really nice and has it's own feeling I like it how it is.

I cannot see any possible abuse. Save for the fact that keys drop upon leaving the labyrinth (which could be fixed by making them function only for one instance of the Labyrinth, yet remain with the player like quest items.) I can see no possible downside to checkpoints.
For those that DO want to do it all at once, there is nothing stopping you. For those that do not, there should be options. I see no reason a "feeling" should be preventing people from exploring content. Last edited by Torinator#2077 on Mar 6, 2016, 8:50:48 PM

A friend of mine started playing and quit after riping in normal lab for like 5 times to oneshots from Izaro. He just uninstalled cause running from start was too much. Way too time consuming for modern gamers.

" What about a compromise to shield people against disconnections? Like giving six portals to a player, map style, and giving extra rewards for ending a run without deaths. Add a Forsaken Masters questline

There needs to be a checkpoint in the labyrinth!! for 1 it's way to long to not have a checkpoint in there second it's in standard its shouldn't even be a hardcore feature in standard that why everyone play standard so if you die nothing happens beside some exp lose in cruel and merciless.
Well tried the labyrinth 2 times failed the first one like halfway through on normal difficulty and then switched to my ranger that have whirling blades to see if that will help me pass this....and did get further, but died at the end and then raged quit....first time ever! rage quiting path of exile!.... Now how ggg can make the labyrinth more enjoyable have a checkpoint in the labyrinth or atleast make it so when you die you don't have to start at the beginning....Well at least do this in standard....and then make it like it is now in the hardcore version where features like this are meant to be in... " I'll take a page from the "but it's optional!" crowd's playbook: No one will force you to use checkpoints if they're put in. You can still have the option of running the whole slog again if that's your cup of tea. *drops mic* Quoting Saltychipmunk:
...I look at the new act 5 boss where you have to hide behind the statues to survive the bullet hell and all I can think is... how the fuck are zombies going to survive that? They don't know what hiding is... they don't know what dodging is... they are morons. |

" Yet those checkpoints would come handy when learning the labyrinth. It takes time the first tries. Then they'd be ignored, because speed. Add a Forsaken Masters questline
