I have no sympathy for all the "play properly" answers either though. The current meta screems "faceroll me, clearspeed clearspeed clearspeed". It's pretty easy to get uncautious at a sloppy moment in such an environment.

Besides, PoE is less about good gameplay skills and more and more about making a build that oneshots the whole screen. Having a few elements like bearers or VB here and there to force you to play cautious anyway is again questionable design.

Yeah it's sad, since reflect is a no issue and everything is only about clearspeed.
Monster mods are a no issue today, you insta them anyway before they are even close.

If you are in a party and to your left, right, north and south all screens are cleared simultaneously, you have maybe read 5% of all mobmods around you in that time, all you do is looking on the ground for the only mod that can kill you ôO ... often covered by multiple layers of player & mobskills, it's a nightmare, a 'blind flight' sometimes.

... and the answer is: play solo!? oO

I don't bitch because there is one deadly mechanic in the game... I bitch because everything else is meaningless... every mob, every mod. When detecting these rings on the floor inbetween the discharger, the summoner with his 15 minions and all the other 1-button-press-killmachines is the only left challenge, something is wrong IMO

... or indeed play PoE like it was intended: solo only

There are no instakill mechanics. Just people who make timed kill mechanics instakill because they don't adjust their playstyle. Keep moving away from corpses and bearers will never get you. The corpses don't follow you. If you can't react because you didnt look at the mods or can't see the explosion radius getting brighter before it explodes, then move away from every corpse. If you are already a distance, don't move towards the corpse right away.

first of all, no one forces anyone to play the meta.
second of all, no one says its hard to be 'uncautious'...shit happens. bearers are tough to see sometimes, especially in parties...but calling something that is clearly NOT instant by any means 'instant', is just wrong and dishonest. the more plainly wrong or exaggerated stuff one posts, the less serious his opinion is taken.

I dont understand this logic. you just stated what you stated about the meta, except you generalized it even more. why, by your logic, playing cautiously is not important ?

bearers are easily avoidable. this is not off-screen reflect (and I do miss old reflect badly).

this type of logic leads to people demanding livesavers and lifeguards floating in the river 24/7, simply because everyone is jumping off the bridge. for some reasoning, not considering that maybe theres other ways aside from, well, blindly jumping off the bridge following everyone else

bro you missed the memo. because streamers and racers play meta and shit, they dictate the playstyle to everyone else. since now the players HAVE to have this playstyle, GGG should not make any mechanic contrary to the playstyle streamers/racers have. because...thats not FAIR ! I HAZ TO PLAY LIKE THIS DUDE XYZ does ! if he doesnt look around IM ENTITLED TO NOT LOOK AT SHIT EITHER AND RUN AS FAST AS FORREST GUMP AND USAIN BOLT !

ie, kindergarten type of logic

re: "Noone forces you to play the meta"

Well the game does. For example try getting past cruel arena without a huge aoe skill that kills everything quickly (In a fresh HC league).

And cruel arena forces you to not look at the mods on enemies? Why is paying attention so damn hard for people now? But no blame the game for dying to an explosion that takes multiple seconds to go off.

Don't try to argue with these guys, they don't get it :>
... I am saying 'party play is fucked' and they keep saying 'no one forces you to play the meta' >.>
... as if it makes any difference which build I am playing >.>
... the meta isn't a build ... it's what GGG offers us to play with x.X

... and when I say 'a party with 6 people is clusterfuck and there is no time to check mods'
... the counter-argument is 'I have 0 problems playing solo therefore you should have 0 problems too'

I mean... WTF!? Really? xD

I have 0 problems in 6 man parties. I don't party with people that just RUNRUNRUN. Those idiots get killed.

NO ONE FORCES YOU TO PLAY THE META. YOU CHOOSE IT. THIS IS AN INCONTROVERTIBLE TRUTH. Apologize for the trite caps = emphasis, but my fucking god, get it through your head. YOU CHOOSE TO PLAY THAT WAY.

You are right on one point, it makes no difference what build you play. Looking at mods is an inherent decision made by the person holding the mouse, regardless what build you are using.

But seriously, please please please please tell me this:

When you open up Path of Exile, log on to your account, select a character and enter the game. What does the game do that FORCES you to play a certain way? How does it give you NO CHOICE AND NO CONTROL OVER YOUR ACTIONS?

Does GGG have mind control rays?

Vast majority of your problems would stop existing if you sucked it up and stopped playing HC.

HC was be and prob will never be balanced in PoE, so honestly I have no idea why your torturing yourself.
