Why can't just GGG and the forum whiteknights here would just accept the fact that Standard will always be LEGACY league and let it be because it is a nightmare to balance in the first place. I mean this where the failed experiments of the worst balance team in human history, desynced HC players and the merged end up. Eternal Orbs is one of many causes of riots here along with legacy items. But if Eternals only drastically affected this league and not much on them precious temporary leagues, then why even try to tame the untamable? The league is already full of broken items being mass produced by mirrors that then churns out countless imbalanced builds. Also, some people enjoy perfecting their gear set through crafting as a form of a long time goal in this jungle of a league.


Give us our fun back in crafting and return eternals.

Eternal orbs in conjunction with mirrors ruined the game. They were a horribly short sighted solution that destroyed standard.

Worst are the players who think their build is only good once they blow 300 exalts on a bow and are willing to pay a rando 100 additional exalts to do it.

And that's a really good argument why eternals are no longer, and should never have been, in the game alongside mirrors and a blanket no-binding policy. Mirrors are going nowhere, GGG are not about to swallow their pride and use the tools they are outright against, no matter how much their design failures highlight the flaws in their policy. That leaves us conclusively to eternals = dodo.




I wonder if all the pro-eternal people would be happy if eternals were back in the game but the community decided not to hand them to high end crafters for peanuts but rather demanded a value more fitting their rarity, like, say, 50 ex per eternal. Would eternals have fixed crafting for you again?

Well to be fair, I've only ever found 5 exalts and I've found 2 eternals, so they aren't worth 50 ex IMO. But yes, if eternals were reintroduced and were expensive, I would be happy. And to your first point, those mirror worthy items are ALREADY IN THE GAME. It's too late to say they shouldn't be. We can't balance around what should be, but rather what is. Why should we only be able to make half assed items and the best option will forever be to mirror the same few items?? That logic is beyond stupid.

do you think we pay 465ex for a bow to get a 'good' build, our motivs to get perfect gear for every slot is much different than you think. we dont do our builds to promote to community or get a 'good' build, in poe you should put goals to yourself to keep playing, thats just what we do. look at my gear, its aroun 9-10 mirrors, do you think i intended to have 'good' build while grinding to get such a gear?

you can get good build with copying what steamers do too, our motives are completely different than gettin good or completing the game, or doing deathless über runs.

as i said, adding end game crafting makes the game look like unfair for starters, but economy relies on rich guys in fact, and when the game mechanics do not provide a goal for such players, they just do flipping just out of boredom, as a habit and economy is getting worse. exalts are used to be 20-25c. now they are 65-75c. its crazy, there is no better signifier for that crafting is dead and exalts are just to make trades.

Damage is already done. Eternals weren't common enough and mirrors should of never existed. All mirrors did was allow people to control the economy and create a Diablo2 classic style duped item monopoly. GGG screwed this up from the start and there's no reversing it. If we started with the current methods of crafting i.e alt/aug/regal spamming then manipulating affixes with master mods til we get what we want after a lot of rinsing and repeating the game would of evolved a lot differently up to this point. It seems they like to ignore the perm leagues and just leave their past mistakes there. While using the temp leagues to move forward with the game changes we should of had from the start. While the idea of starting new all the time is crap in itself.
