What's up with the rarity of alchemy/exalted orbs?

I have no more food to feed. Shoo.

Anyways, I'm still not convinced by the naysayers that the current system is correct.

I think a lot of people are getting hung up on small things..

1. If your weapon has 1 or 2 mods out of 5 that aren't ideal, it doesn't make the item worthless.

2. Obtaining gear that has all ideal mods should be extremely rare.

3. Complaining that random systems are random is just odd.

People need to stop saying 'crafting' you aren't crafting anything, you are playing the lotto over and over and over.. nothing else, and buying 1/10/100 lottery tickets doesn't influence your odds of winning one bit, it just gives you one extra shot at being lucky.

You're missing the point of the thread. I don't care about ideal mods or obtaining the best weapons. It just doesn't make sense that you have a ridiculously low
chance on getting good mods everytime you use a regal or exalted. It's an absolutely waste to use them considering their rarities. I found one exalted (during normal act one) and haven't found one since.

And you're saying that this system is completely random is false. It IS NOT RANDOM. There is a ridiculously low chance of obtaining cruel compared to other mods which can be verified using alteration orbs.

random (rndm)
1. Relating to a type of circumstance or event that is described by a probability distribution.
2. Relating to an event in which all outcomes are equally likely, as in the testing of a blood sample for the presence of a substance.

I highlighted the parts that are most pertinent to this discussion, also pay attention to #2 at the bottom, what it is saying is that for any blood test all results (even the most rare) are as likely as any other. What you can see from that example, is that simply because something is more rare then another, doesn't make it any less random.
