Its probably worse now.

The math is off. If there are 50000 users and if there is a 1:50000 chance of getting picked, next time it is a 1:49999 chance of getting picked. Because the creation rate of new accoutns are faster than creation of beta members, every account is reducing the odds of being selected by the timer. If 10000 people join (where there were previously 50000) in a week, next week the odds of timer selecting one of us will be 1:60000.

You do not add probabilities together. One probability is independent from the next.
