Yeah, it's very specific, pretty much the same thing as Crown of Eyes it seems, only increases and reductions, not more minion damage, minion ias, minion crit or whatever.

Looks like an item tailor made for me. I've been making melee summoner hybrids for ages and the support for that ingame was pretty much non-existing (unless you're Necromancer) - until now :)

It's not just for melee; it works for all damage that hits, and even damage that doesn't hit as long as you've hit recently.

Sorry, I was talking about the second bit where you said it was tailor made for your melee minion builds. I think it is actually more tailor made for spell-casters who use minions. (Except perhaps dominating blow.)

Yeah, a caster-minion hybrid is inherently better, not nearly as many problems. Don't mind me, I just like to think I finally got a bone to chew :)

Hmm, unless that 'hit recently' means 'hit with this weapon recently', a caster could still use a long range hit to trigger the bonus and maybe fortify but it would be a bit of a hassle.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

The damage lost is not nearly as high as it seems, for one thing you can't say everything there is more damage.

If you have 36% added cold from hatred added fire is a 32.3% more damage multiplier (because you are doing 180% of base damage compared to 136%, 180/136 = 1.323). Each next added modifier is effectively a lesser more modifier.
And all of that doesn't even factor in the fact you face resists on bosses so your added elemental damage is weaker again, so added elemental damage is in some cases a not so meaningful damage output at all.

What I feel like is a decent combination for this sword is Mings Heart (20% damage added as chaos) which should offset some damage loss.

Just, I'm kinda tired of using ele damage on melee builds. Especially since the new 80% res map mods were added. This weapon just makes non ele scaling builds that aren't poison disfavour eq a bit more viable.

But you lose those auras, dont you think you can reserve mana for other ones?
-AA (phys&fire reduction)
-Blasphemy (Enfeeble, vulnerability - whatever you want)
Or you can use MoM, or even BM keystone...

You think there're too few support gems for it? MPD, FA, Multistrike, Inc.AoE, Conc. Effect, Inc. crit. strikes, Poison, list goes on.

And should i remind you, that elemental damage is a subject to enemy resistance, and that life leech %works mainly for physical damage?

I like this weapon and its design. It provides immense power (DPS, shock, 20% free AoE, ~90 life), but also has a unique drawback (sword, no elemental damage), and it also goes against the meta (all physical build use some auras/skill to get elemental damage from it) and it favours some underused builds (Blood Magic and MoM melees).
I canr say, if it succeeds or not, needs to be tested in-game.

What happened to that belt that was partially community designed and partially ZiggyD? I thought that was going to be in this league/expansion.
