Path of exile vs Diablo 3
"Can't argue with that however I don't really find them equal in many ways I see path of exile being superior and the aspects that diablo3 is better at is because path of exile is still working on that aspect However there's also a lot of things that's totally different which means there's room for both games to co-exist so if you have the money and time to play both I highly suggest you do but if you're going for just one game then in my opinion path of exile will probably be better comparing release vs release |

" Hm. Can you elaborate? FXAA doesn't work for you? Or you still can't get enough sharpness? Anyway, Blizzard isn't known for high-end graphics. Try Crysis 2 with DX11 and highres textures. It's crisp clear and looks seriously amazing. But gameplay gets really boring towards the end. ;) Last edited by prodigydancer#2627 on Dec 15, 2011, 8:09:52 PM

This reminds me of the Dark Souls vs Skyrim discussion >_>
They have their pros and cons, and i enjoy both :D (i prefer Dark Souls though) Play what you like, leave what you dont like alone. I really cant say much cause i still didnt play PoE or Diablo 3 <_< |

" The models doesn't seem to be very high resolution so it doesn't matter what you do to make it look better they're still going to look blurry and out of focus cause that's how they're designed to look |

im realy trying to undrstand the argument but i cant, PoE is becoming a great game but how can we compare Diablo 3 and tell how easy it is since Diablo will have a fourth difficulty lvl, same arguement was when D2 came, D1 was tough from the start, D2 was bigger game, more acts and the normal lvl was easy. we are in PoE forums lets stay at PoE discusion. an easy example about how things are changing is that until 0.9.3 PoE was a good game but fast became boring, with 0.9.4 is amazing, so dont jump to conclusions about D3 so fast. PoE is free and every fan of a/rpg's will play it, Diablo is... Diablo, and anyone who can afford it will play it too. |

" I can afford it and I won't play it because they ruined the whole thing with item mall. |

" Sorry man but you are just being a big idiot. If you do not like it then do not use it. Nobody is forcing you to use the auction house. It`s just an additional feature. It`s like...I`m not going to play PoE because they added a marauder class. I wanna play as a witch but i am not going to play at all because there is an option to choose to play as a marauder. You made me smack my forehead, hope you are happy now... Last edited by SethRa#2722 on Dec 16, 2011, 11:38:34 AM

Last week I got an invite for the Diablo 3 Beta. And what a disappointment it was:
Choose a class, level up, stats progress automatically, you unlock special abilities every X levels (you can change active ones at any time) and that's it. The only customization possible is the items you equip. No dark atmosphere, characters feel cheap, bad voice acting, cheesy effects... it just feels wrong. I see it being ported to consoles within a year and getting a 15+ rating. Some guy at Reddit recommeded Path of Exile, and from what I have seen I can tell these guy have made an excellent job opposed to the crap Blizzard is trying to pull. I'm a simple gamer that responds to the ambience of a game.
Path of exile has the grim athmosphere that draws me into the game, diablo does not. When I played diablo 3 I felt that I lost the feeling of difficulty or `challenging`, which I did have in diablo 2. I thought that this was because I had become a seasoned gamer. Whether that's true or not, I have that feeling when playing Exile. |

Nice write up.
From the screenshots and gameplay that I've seen of each I don't think D3 will hold my interest outside of playing for the story sake. PoE definitely has a more interesting enviroment + and seemingly an interesting character rebuildability that has kept my eyes glued to the beta invite timer with fingers crossed. |
