It is already answered.

I was talking about grinding. You are the one who opened the topic about HC and SC.

If I already state I don't like grindy games, why would you ask me to play a grindy game? Your action isn't made in my best interest. What is your motive here for asking me to play Hardcore here?

I didn't say it is dying, I say it isn't growing.

Except you are being all defensive in a topic about people saying this game is "dying'. Maybe you don't see it yourself?

Deflection is not helping the situation. I think the a problem here is you splitting some hairs about word use "its not dying, its just not growing" a lot of people would interpret this as you being on the other side of the fence on the topic. There's no motive or reasoning for anything I've said other than participating in discussion about the topic like you.

I genuinely believe there's been some significant misunderstanding with tones in posts.

That's actually a good point. GGG pulled off a Tom Sawyer on their playerbase: they made players pay to beta test the game. Then, on top of everything, they didn't listen to the feedback they got and released the Awakening with a fuckton of problems. That's bound to create severe disillusionment and antagonize a lot of players.

I didn't pay for closed beta access and I still lost a great deal of respect and faith in GGG's competence, I can only imagine what it is for someone who fell victim to the Awakening hype, paid for beta access and received a dose of hard, unpleasant reality to the face.

Players might be willing to forgive greedy policy if the results are amazing, but when the results are actually a direct contradiction to the marketing hype, well, players can be vindictive too. I'm reminded of Blizzard who managed to turn from god status into a company despised by many with their series of greedy and unsatisfactory (or outright horrible in D3's case) moves.
Yep Blizzard, though in Blizzards main case, World of Warcraft, it was poor changes to the game made around appeasing entitled players who just wanted free loot and didnt even want to play the game.

"Hey, lets kill off our most dedicated, veteran players by completely making the game less than casual, completely anti-social and entirely redundant (doing things like adding in the Black Market to let you buy things that can only normally be obtained by achieving something, adding in LFG which completely ruined social interaction, dumbing everything down and homogenizing everything)".

"Oh shit what have we done, now everyone is making fun of us for losing 7 million subscribers, why did we listen to these players?!".

"We got greedy man, we got greedy (in this case trying to appease said entitled players by making all changes around them instead of listening to their larger, dedicated player base)".

"Its okay, just dont release the numbers anymore, it will be fine".

Harvest sucks! But look at my decked out gear two weeks in!

Labyrinth salt farm miner.

"But my build diversity" , "Game is too hard!" - Meta drone playing the same 1-3 builds for years.

Many games has grind, It is a matter of degree of grind that is present in games. It is already answered. I think you are the one doing the hair splitting.

It is a huge difference between dying and not growing. Go check the dictionary.

I highly doubt you are neutral.

This needs some more reality added into it or i am not buying it.

1) did the packs sell more because of the beta keys

Obviously

2) did GGG force anybody to purchase them or even intended to release them?

Nope, people where up in arms shouting "take my goddamn money and let me in"

3) did GGG listen to the feedback presented

Yes they have and still continue to do so

4) did 90% of the feedback provided in the beta sub section suck monkey balls?

Yes it did

5) is 4) GGG's fault?

Yes, i consider it partially their fault for not making a detailed post on how to deliver feedback and around what subjects they actually required feedback.

Feedback on the beta was doomed to fail the moment they caved into the "take my money and let me in" crowd. So many biased feedback that had absolutely no relevance to GGG.

On the other hand, they sure made a hefty $$$. So it ain't all bad.

All in all, taters gonna tate. But obviously, feel free to disagree.

Peace,

Next generation games are already coming out that will run on this machine sitting in front of me, it barely runs 3 people parties in POE.

On what? Minimum settings, @ 720p? If you can't handle PoE with a full group, then your PC is junk. This game ran fine with just an I5 2500k and a Radeon 6970, and that's a 5 year old PC. Maybe you're using AMD junk for a processor that's half as good at gaming as Intel. Or you bought an overpriced aiienware piece of junk thinking its zomgl33twtfpwn when in reality its console tier peasant junk.

I could definitely dual log or maybe triple log and run 2 teams of 6 on max settings with this PC at 4k resolution. But then again, I'm not a peasant.

Not the end, yet. More like a midlife crisis.

Are we witnessing the end of POE?

Another league isn't going to fix the problems they are having with this game:

-Trade is a long way off.

-Maps suck.

-Casters suck.

Next generation games are already coming out that will run on this machine sitting in front of me, it barely runs 3 people parties in POE.

Unfortunately, I already know the answer to my original question. Yep.
