PLEASE RE- OPTIMIZE THE DOCKS!!!!
" Could be, I think it is just because this zone has so many different effects and filters going on its just an overload, not to mention the voidbearers and phase runners. lol. INGAME: Savanity

The game's graphics are currently poorly optimized unfortunately. You will notice this the most when playing in large groups with lots of spells like lightning arrow going off. Apparently AMD/ATI card owners are affected even more by this than nVidia card owners, as the former seem to suffer from more sudden extreme FPS drops ('lags') than the latter. Probably some driver issue, or poor optimization on GGG's part.
Anyway, the poor performance of PoE is one of the reasons I've decided to quit for now, I'll check back in a couple of patches to see if things have improved. I sure hope so, because the core gameplay is pretty damn good. Last edited by jantjeuh#2633 on Feb 16, 2013, 11:34:26 AM

This area has a two main shadowing lights (player light and environment light). In the next patch, or major version, this area will have the shadows turned off on one of the lights so will be a bit more efficient.

TBH i dont see any issue with the Docks.. I suspect it may just be a software issue with ur computers or somthing.
I run the game at 1920 x 1080. 60hz Vsync. All settings max. And my FPS doesnt move from 60fps in Docks even with large groups of monsters. I only run a 560ti graphics card and its usuage is rarely any higher than about 75%. its usualy around 50%. In docks with lots of monsters is usualy 75% and it may spike ot 80% now and then but thats it. When u get these drops in FPS and then go positng about it i highley sugest u take a look at some more information b4 posting. Like GPU usuage, CPU usuage, temperatures and such. Becouse if u find out ur graphics card is running at 50% when the FPS drops then it points away from a graphics issue. IMO its less likely to be a problem with slow/overburdended graphics cards becouse as i said i run this game at max settings and it isnt really phasing my 560ti which is by no means a monster card. What i think it may be is a CPU issue. Now a 2500k is a great CPU ..but non of u have said u have OC'd them ..which is odd ..why get a K version if not to OC ?. Anyway my rig is as follows: Motherboard: Asus P9X79 Pro CPU: Intel i7 3930K @ 4.6ghz OC RAM: G.Skill 16gb 1866mhz CL9 GPU: Gigabyte 560ti S-OC950 (384 core) SSD: 128gb Corsair Performance Pro (OS) HDD: 2x 500gb 10K'RPM Raid0 OS: Windows 7 64bit GGG: If at any point in development u decide to remove eye candy... for any reason ..please do leave an option in to reactivate it. I understand wanting to enhance performance but thigns like this are kinda like when a consol port of game comes out that could have been so much better if not for the fact they were designed for outdated consols. Anything taken out fo the game for the sake of slow computers should atleast have the otpion left in to have it back in the game for those with gaming rigs. Thanks :) Last edited by Bojack#3352 on Feb 16, 2013, 5:41:58 PM

" What the hell? How do you not see any issues when a developer has just stated that there are issues, and what they are. FOUR HOURS EARLIER " Read the damn post DIRECTLY ABOVE YOURS that confirms this area DOES have issues. This is the only area in the game that runs as slow as it does, and having a game that is drastically inconsistent in its requirements is not a good thing. Having 2 sets of shadows from 2 light sources does not = problem lol
he said they will remove 1 to make things more efficient. Again thats not saying there is a problem ..just that their removing a graphical feature. Removing graphics to reduce load is not indictive of a problem. Not every1 is having this issue. I was trying to help them work out what IS the 'problem' ..not what could help reduce load so the problem isnt as obviose :P if there was such a dramtic problem in the game that causes fps to tank to 1 from 60 on systems such as the Op then I would be experiancing them also. And so would many other people. |

" You are not putting yourself in situations where the issues arise then. A GTX 690 and 3930k, both massively overclocked, still drop large amounts of frames if you actually put yourself in an intense position in this game. |

BY all means explain how i can put myself into the situation then becouse iv explored the entire map of Docks each time iv been there to try find this issue. As with al games i help beta test i purposly try to put myself into known and unkown istuations where issues occure..but this one im not seeing. Im here to help :)
Also a 690 isnt the best example of a card to use. .it has its own issues being that its a dual GPU card, that one fact alone would be my first suspect for any graphics or fps issues that arrise. |

Multiple enemies, rares, peopel firing effects all over the place, etc.
Just exploring the map isnt going to drop you below 60, but the issue is it takes a LOT less goign on to start dropping you below 60. If you uncap your framerate and go to docks, and then back to town you'll notice a very large framerate difference, which is not something you want when designing a game. You want machines that meet the requirements to be able to run the entire game, not the game except for one area. EDIT: I personally use a 570. I've tested this with friends using 570, 670, 680, 690, 7970 and a Devil13 and they all start dropping frames in this area with MUCH less happening on screen. @Bojack
Game working on one particular computer is not enough, they need to make it work on many computers. Congrats on rig that can handle all the internal issues. Now back to the actual problem... ✠ ✠
