How are People Finding Extreme Amounts of Currency?

@AllSunsDawn its really hard for me to believe that thousands of player got wealthy from trade chat due to the inflation of items now. I've been testing this theory since I've been playing POE and I've maybe sold 14 items (items such as 20/20 gems, Shavs, Lightning Coils, ect..) and i still can't seem to beat the spam.


I feel like the "trade to get rich" is bologna... although many people might disagree, but when you try to sell items that are worth 15-30 chaos they just don't sell.

Maybe there are not enough players yet for the trade chat to work effectively or maybe there are, but honestly i feel like farming for alts is probably THE fastest method of getting currency. PLEASE NOTE: The comment i said before this does not include the unique drops and or other rare currencies such as chaos orbs ect...

why would you try to sell your stuff in trade chat lol? acquisition. Gl selling anything in trade chat

1. Play temp leagues
2. Sell items there, because everyone want items (so you can get currency easier)
3. Buy lots of expensive league-only uniques
4. Swim in money on Standard.

Also, you don't need mirror gear to make nice builds. If this is your thing, sure. Go on. Farm all that time for that gear. But is having that gear the point, or getting it?
Try focusing on the other aspects of the game. Else you'll get bored really quick.

All suns dawns advice is good, im not having the same luck with volls as i was in 1.3 (maybe odds went up). Other things to do prob said earlier but nvm alc all higher ilvl (75+) jewellery and keep a lot of tabs going to sell i often make an ex plus a day just selling jewellery. Have 5 tabs or so set out for regal recipe so u can do it fast. I at present run 3 shops and will do a 4th when i can be bothered. Another thing is 6s 5l sell and go again (think its mentioned earlier) you need deep pockets for this but eventually you get a 6l, look for uniques that are profitable. Poe whisper notifier is your friend can even be sent to msg ur phone if elsewhere in the house. Gl

The question is loaded because it implies that it is impossible to get "Extreme" amount of currency if you just no-life or RMT or something similar. Also that it should be normal to reach theses levels.

To obtain "Extreme" amounts of currency ala mirror items, You need to invest equally at the "Extreme levels".

If your interested in extreme levels of currency, that must mean you must be comfortable playing a MFer with extreme amounts of MF. Also get a group to split map cost and be in your party with a culler with extreme amounts of MF.

You need to play for a "extreme amount of hours." (People who have multi mirror items played over 1k+ hours in efficient farming unless they are lucky.)

You need to be extremely efficient at trading currency (not ripping yourself off, I didn't say flipping that's a different skill set) and selling items and figuring out good rares to sell.

Ect.

If you want extreme currency you need to exploit the game to the max.

In the end you don't need extreme to be honest.

If you took 1 mirror item and split up the cost between all of your slots, you can faceroll most of the game. An item 80% the power of a mirror item is like 20x less in cost.

I play the game for a little less than a year now and am sitting on around 100 ex pure currency just by grinding for drops and playing somewhat efficient - running a shop, do some crafting, recipes, rudimentary knowledge of item worth, chancing and so forth .. nothing special with no flipping or big trading involved. Never played a temp league either. As I grew older in Path of Exile and watching some streamers, browsing the forums, looking at some youtube stuff I began to really wonder about the op's question as well. For my part if we talk about fortunes in the hundrets to even thousands of exalts I'm convinced that you have to devote the vast majority of your lifetime to this game period - scaling with the years you play. And more importantly and I know that this topic is kind of hushed up in the community but I am 100% convinced that A LOT of the crazy stuff you see and initially are kind of hard-to-believe-suspicious about is plain RMT. There I called it out.

72 mirrors in less than 2 months. If it is possible,can someone who follows
his stream tell me how he does it.I really like to know,the amount of wealth
in such a short time is astounding.

A lot of those guides come from people who've been playing, and gathering currency, since the game came out. They've had years to accumulate the hundreds of exalts of wealth you're seeing in those guides.

They're finding it on people who are confused by PoE's currency system and cling to the idea of "fixed" prices and have a poor grasp on how free market economies work.

A good example is the people who make hundreds of Exalteds running Atziri maps and buying fragments. The profit margin is so unreasonable that it's clear that the fragment sellers' price is too low, but in their minds "Mortal Hope price = X Exalts" or whatever and they basically keep handing free money to the buyers.

The other big bunch is the common flippers who simply pay attention to how the game changes and predict what build is going to be popular and what currency is going to be desirable, and take advantage of people who are completely clueless or live in the past regarding currency exchange rates and item prices.
