I am lucky, therefore game is fine
" Some will say that div. cards are that. Whatever casuals can achieve, nolifers can do it 50x faster. It's really not possible to balance these two in a global economy + "everything should be trade-able" scenario. When night falls

"Actually, the only thing which can balance them is a global economy, everything tradeable scenario. Excessive supply means the nolifer hand-me-downs are worth a pittance, which casuals can easily pay to advance far more rapidly than they would otherwise. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

" Disagrees with your original sentiment. You are indirectly saying that these 'elitists' that claim the game is fine because RNG is 'on their side' are wrong and that this fact means the game ISN'T fine. When in fact, the game IS FINE, whether or not RNG has blessed you or not. The fact of the matter is this: your concept of a risk/reward system where harder encounters = better loot 100% does not and will not work in an ARPG. It simply doesn't. No matter how you cut it, it is not possible to create an encounter difficult enough to warrant guaranteed loot, because in a very short amount of time, EVERYTHING is easily farmable by simple, cheap builds (I can build a character that can farm uber Atziri playing blindfolded with my left hand for less than 5 exalts). The mechanics in an ARPG just don't allow for something challenging enough to stop this. Even D3 on release, which was considered near IMPOSSIBLE to progress passed the the first act in the hardest difficulty by many due to the encounters being so damn hard, there were people farming the final boss of the game within days. They literally had to completely overhaul the game within the first year because so many people were up in arms about how difficult it was - yet so many had the game on complete farm, myself included. So now everyone is just getting guaranteed BiS drops over and over again, is infinitely wealthy and 100% of the progression in the game is gone. Game dies. And nothing about what I said was dirtbag-ish. 'Generation X' are the people that want instant gratification with everything in life, and that is no exception in video games. If it means they have to use/abuse/exploit/take advantage of/insert whatever term you want here every aspect of the game in order to maximize their success in the game, instead of only the aspects they find the most enjoyable, they instantly become dissatisfied and complain. That is not some dirtbag opinion. That is a fact about Generation X, proven by oh too many examples in life. I'm sorry if you were offended by being lumped in with that, but that's exactly how your post comes off. IGN Nellz

" You may like to rethink that statement. BIS drop in D3 is far more than "insert name of weapon/armor/jewelry" here.I can have ancient SMK's drop all day long and never get a BIS version,in fact, unless it rolls extremely good rolls the item will be 100% useless as an upgrade for anyone already possessing a half decent ancient version. Wealth in D3 isn't measured in currency,it's measured in knowledge of how to advance to higher tier content as efficiently as possible. Greater Rifts are D3s progression, you're looking for progression in the wrong place in D3. Game only dies if you fail to adapt to it's changes.but there's nothing wrong with disliking the changes and moving on. =P Last edited by Temper#7820 on Sep 2, 2015, 12:17:46 AM

" I'm not talking about the people who simply enjoy the RNG/trade design, and occasionally provide some positive feedback. again, I disagree with them but this thread isn't about them. this thread is about those who make a habit of entering some complaint thread, and toss anything from "game fine. L2P" one-liners, to actual posts explaining in detail how OP is complaining because he "needs to git good" and how "game is fine" only because that specific poster is doing well, or even bother to write an entire "response thread" for the purpose of trolling the original. it's called being a fucking troll and a piece of shit, in forums. I really do hope you can spot the difference between the former (first line above), and the latter. " that statement is so painfully false, I was seriously considering to stop reading right there. honestly, my initial reaction was "how many ARPGs did you... ah fuck it, never mind". but then I kept reading a bit more, and it made me realize you simply have no idea what I mean by saying "risk/reward" and by complaining about RNG being too dominant and Economy being too central. so I will gladly explain even though I think I have already - countless times before - if you are actually willing to listen. and I'm not sure you are. " sure, let's just put a label on everybody born anywhere around the world, between 1960 and 1980 (myself included, being an early 72ish). and let's just say we all want "instant gratification", willing to exploit/abuse/take advantage of... and let's say it's a "fact" "proven" by "too many examples in life"... fuck man, are you even listening to yourself, at this point? " Uh, you totally missed the point of my post, it had nothing to do with D3 progression - you might want to read the thread to catch up :P IGN Nellz

" Sure, I can see the difference. I can also see a passive aggressive way of approaching a topic - why would you go through the trouble of typing out a forum post to simply say: 'This makes me mad. Plz stop thx.' " Name me one multiplayer ARPG that had any longevity where you had guaranteed BiS drops behind hard encounters. No, games like Baldur's Gate are not considered even remotely in the same category as PoE or D2. " You know stereotypes are stereotypes for a reason...right? It's funny, somewhat rude, maybe mean...whatever. But they're stereotypes because they're true, 95% of the time. And I was thinking more Millennials than Gen X for the instant gratification. Are you really refuting this and making me seem unreasonable because I didn't cite hard statistics or examples? Like...is that really necessary? Go take a stroll through a mall and you'll be supplied with enough examples to fill a book with. IGN Nellz Last edited by Vaux#0201 on Sep 2, 2015, 1:23:27 AM
