It's awesome when girls get into video games, but it will always be male dominated. There is just not enough interest on their side. Also, just cause someone on the internet says they are a girl....

In my experience there are 4 different outcomes when a girl starts playing multiplayer games online:

1: The girl is extremely aware of the "benefits" and takes advantage as much as possible. Gets free stuff from everyone and noone and seek that kind of experience actively.

2: The girl is extremely aware that a lot of girls fall under category 1 and promptly refuses to receive any kind of help to make a statement/they feel they have to do so to prove they can manage on their own.

3: The girl is lucky enough to have a guild/friends that treat them like any other player, but still has to play with guard up towards unknown people because, lets face it, there are a lot of desperate male players out there that either insist on hitting on the girl or try to sabotage/trashtalk if they get "denied".

4: The girl never reveals her gender, either because she feels it is irrelevant, or because she feels she doesn't want to deal with the whole issue.

I really feel sad when I see female streamers having to fight their way through all the BS just to play and broadcast their games. A lot of cultures still treat the women badly and internet just multiples the effect of it. Then again they are not exactly helped by the category 1 streamers. Still completely unacceptable behaviour from a large amount of people towards female gamers.

Some other gurl took me for a gurl once while trading. At least now I can tell they exist.
