Does RNGesus hate you too?
I never, ever expect anything good to drop for me. Hence my RNG never lets me down!
I loot loads of shiny stuff in every league. 6 linked several items with minimal fusings when trying to 5 link them, looted an Eternal before they got removed, looted a 6 Link staff, looted a Tier 1 Unique, always loot several Exalts in every league. I have hit what I would consider "Jackpot" mods, many times when crafting my own items. When I have finished with a league, I always have gear equipped over my characters that totals multiple Exalts, sometimes in the hundred's of Exalts if I have a particularly good league. Let's not forget the huge amount of Rare items that drop, which can be sold for hundreds or sometimes thousands of Chaos each league. And if all else fails, I just go and loot Alterations, they can be turned into much big huge shiny Exalts. Bad luck is an illusion, Exiles. |

As of now, I am level 89 and have not had a single Exalt drop for me, nor any notable uniques. I did however 6L my Marohi with around 100 fusings, so that was pretty sweet. I have pretty decent gear for mapping, but overall my RNG has sucked pretty hard this league. Doesn't really matter though, my goal right now is leveling which I'm doing ok with... until my map pool dries up.

" Wish it was, really. 3+ years, 1 exalted drop and that's the most valuable thing that has ever dropped for me, with the rest being much less valuable. As for uniques, always 4 alts, max 1 chaos worth, rarely. The other day I ran 10 acton's nightmare, just to see some loot and all I got from them were the chaos recipes. And consider that I play many hours a day, every day. From my point of view, it's not exactly an illusion - too discouraged after all this time T_T Last edited by RestInPieces#6294 on Aug 10, 2015, 12:27:07 PM

I loot many exa & divines each league. Warband count is currently 5 ex, 8 divine (another ex dropped in HC, during this time)
In every league so far I've also looted items worth 1 ex or more in the eco-sim. Be it uniques or rares. I don't play "MF" chars, use only around 50 - 100 IIR, never use IIQ gear and never grind quest bosses. I just play maps... Squandered everything for 5 divine orbs. All rolls rolled terrible. Next map, I complete the set of 5x Emperor's Luck divination cards, trade them in, and lo and behold, I get 5 divine orbs from Tasuni :D
Deliver pain exquisite

I was sure he does - for example I play life char and when I've been using lioneyes glare all my yoloexs (literaly) were either es or accuracy.
One day I bought me better bow, around 360 dps, good crit etc. So, yeah, yoloexing time
Spoiler
crit multi first, acc/%pdmg second. So I dunno now. Burn all the orbs!

I've had 3 exalts drop since I started warbands, over my 2 main characters. 1 on my witch and 2 on my ranger.
Outside of that I've had some items drop and I've sold quite a bit from my shop. All in all I've probably got about 5-6 exalt in raw currency and I'm probably wearing about 2-3 exalts between my two main characters. So I guess tl;dr is that after about 120+ hours of gameplay I've made 9 exalt? Note: Very rough estimate and I've probably let some good items go that I vendored or something cuz I'm bad and I play while drinking. Every Saturday = National Booze n Poe Day

RNGesus hates me only for 6 linking items and map drops above lvl 76. He loves me otherwise.
But i've been playing for 3 years or so and I've only ever 6 linked 1 item you can't tell me that i have spent less than 50,000 fusings on a 6 socket in my poe lifetime. So my rate is basically 50K fusings for a 6 link, thank god for vorici lvl 8. Rampage IGN: RIP_Stannis_Baratheon

It's obvious to me that GGG overlooks/ignores any player that doesn't want to play as the elite no-lifers do. GGG has it in their minds that their arpg is going to be a "hardcore" arpg and to achieve that goal they (PoE devs) perceive that PoE must be full of tiny empty boss rooms and one-shot boss mechanics (Piety laser beam of death for example) and that you must farm slave for 1000s of hours to get anything good/great to drop. RNGesus is just the term (and not of endearment) used to call the RNG mechanics that GGG has coded into PoE. Since all but no-lifers and/or PoE masochists hate the super low chances (similar to lottery chances) of getting a great drop or even enough quantity of drops such as divination cards without doing what amounts to brain dead zombie farming for many, many 100s of hours just to get enough quantity of RNG rolls to occur (and even that is no guarantee that anything good will drop) we slap a label of RNGesus on PoE drop calculations out of sheer frustration and exhaustion.
Yet within every game (arpg and others) there are always a few % of players willing to devote 1000s of hours of their lives to farming for tier 1 rewards. That's great for them but for GGG to set the chances of getting a great drop to such an extreme low value the 99% (or most) have not the time or the desire to play PoE for that many hours and thus we post out of frustration that RNGesus hates us (as we hate the massive grind time requirements of PoE). Nor is it then fair to call me out as wanting to water down PoE and make it rain tier 1 gear or want 6Ls to be as common as 4Ls. That is also very bad (I don't want a Whimsyshire type arpg here, I have TL2 for that) and the opposite should forever be banned from Wraeclast. But for RNGesus the drop rates and drop quality is painfully low. It's amazing Wraeclast hasn't sunk into the ocean from the weight of all the white trash littering the landscape! But GGG has always (and probably will always) set the quality of drops super low and thus RNGesus will forever smite us down and consider our impure thoughts of a more rewarding arpg as blasphemy or that getting a better rate of return for time played is somehow counter to the PoE "hardcore" label and the first G of GGG. It is quite possible for us to be empowered with better quality drops and still provide hard challenges that don't involve either loot starvation to prevent uber builds or one-shot death mechanics. But GGG is lockstep determined to make PoE "hardcore" with bad RNG and most of us will forever suffer the wrath of RNGesus until permanent burnout. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..." Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.
