New laptop to play path of exile.. help me decide! ASUS vs. ALIENWARE

I don't see anyone asking the obvious question of how much you are paying for each of them. You can get a brand new 14" Asus w/ Geforce 660m for about $950.

How much is being asked for them?
It depends on if money is an issue, and how much. As an alienware laptop owner, alienware was one of my many regrets.

If you're willing to spend about $1k, there's a few pretty affordable midland laptops that will handle very well. But seriously, alienware is a last resort, even behind newegg with no clue as to how to build a custom laptop. Even that's better than alienware.
I've seen them... and they've seen me.
Not sure where all the hate for alienware is coming from but they have some of the best laptops around.
Definitely better quality than asus crap. And they're not more expensive, you just have to call them and negociate the price (can be slashed by 20% which actually makes them competitive).

My favorite brand though is clevo (they make laptop cases which means you need to buy your comp from a company that puts all the hardware in them like sager or a lot of other ones). You can build yourself a great laptop which isn't overpriced (of course prices will depend on the companies that build the laptops).

Of course a laptop isn't going to be as good as a desktop within the same price range, but at least you can carry it around :)

Asus wins no question about it

Asus wins, Alienware is just over prized as hell.

But why a Laptop? Sry but Laptops are not designed for gaming. There is simply no discussion. Its just a stupid idea to put in strong hardware in a small case with close to zero space to get the heat out of the system.

Its like buying this retarded gforce/amd dobbel GPU Cardss with a heating system that blows 50% in the case and not 100% out...and ironically HDD´s are right behind this cards. Yeah 80°C constant heat on HDD´s are what they really need.

ps: Sry I really dont understand this at all.
Why you should try Harcore http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/209310/page/1

It's because mine was decent for the first couple weeks, then went downhill. it's like it's a daily chore to fix it. I could have a much more stable laptop for about half the price. not to mention that alienware fell off so hard after the dell buyout. they used to be on a pedestal, but now they're just overpriced pc's that you have plenty of better options of getting for much cheaper. my dream alienware would've cost me about $4.5k, whereas a falcon northwest talon was about half that price, still a decent option with cost, and a great performance. If you also look at the customer reviews, the average that I've noticed for alienware is about 2.5-3 stars.not good at all.

Comparing the laptops on the first post, that Asus beats the crap out of the Alienware.

And new, Alienware sucks too, since it's like Apple: You pay 3 times more just for the brand.
I'm in an abusive relationship with life. It keeps beating the hell out of me and I'm too cowardly to leave it.
