Pretty sure he means that he is in the top 10 on the ladder in hardcore and this is the build he is using. But yeah, I thought the same thing when I originally clicked the thread.

The build looks really solid though. I'm probably going to role a second duelist based closely on this one, but go a bit more offensive.
Except he's on the softcore ladder, in 275th (the 16th highest duelist on SC ladder atm).

Just curious why you'd pick a duelist to go ranged with instead of a Ranger(or a Marauder given where your passive tree ends up)

maybe because it would be easier to be top 10 in Duelists then top 10 in Rengers ?
or maybe he just liked starting from Duelist better as it is easier to reach some parts of his build from this side.
Interesting. I have some questions about the progression.

Was it hard to find items with the added constraint of needing bonus dex to use best bows and highest levels of skills? (you have 142 dex though obviously a nice amount after those items)

Did you actually build it directly into this shape or use respec points to cut a connection somewhere later on?

Was accuracy an issue with very low early dex? It would appear that before reaching Resolute Technique it could get pretty annoying.

Unless I missed something, you're at -60 chaos resist? Do you find that a problem?

I had been thinking of something similar in the passives but without going all the way to templar and instead picking up stuff (like dex!) on the ranger side. It ends up looking kinda like it should've been a ranger to start with though. Yours is maybe more convincingly duelistic (though also eventually suitable for marauder). Another +30 int for gems sure wouldn't hurt to fit in.

If you have respec points, you really could save 1 point by connecting left side differently. Returning the point that is giving you 10 int near templar, you could reach 30 int instead for example. Although you may have had long term plans for Arsonist..? I don't consider that one worth it.

Edit: Actually, you could pick up 20 int and +10% elemental damage with 2 points in Templar by going Elementalist... or lots of things probably. Definitely food for thought for my builds!

Edit2: How much life do you have at the moment with this stuff?

Distraction via Hamburger lead to that about 45 minutes after I posted this, was at position 5 on the Hardcore Ladder for Duelist.

The main reason I rolled a Duelist was for it's very quick access to Unwavering Stance because I was Melee with Sweep until late game. The original intention was not only to be a Duelist, which is the most under represented class at the moment, but also to be melee.

At level 61 I decided that Sweep was far to dangerous to even consider using in maps if I hoped to have a shot at a top spot in the ladder so I used the respec points from quests to make the easy swap from Melee to Ranger.

Finding the Dex gear needed is very easy as simply having a Light Quiver with a good roll will give you access to a Thicket Bow which will end up being what most people will use.

I actually started as a Melee with Sweep and Endurance Charges but it's incredibly dangerous late game. It took only 12 respec points to transition to ranger.

The very first things I did was rush for Unwavering Stance and Resolute Technique so Accuracy was never an issue.

Yes, I do have -60 Chaos. I would be lying if I told you that it was not a problem but, if you can react quickly enough to it, chaos damage is rare enough that it really does not matter. That being said, I cringe any time I see an Undying Alchemist. If you have -60 Chaos in 70+ maps and you don't know exactly what you are doing you WILL die to an Alchemist.
I wouldn't really place chaos resist above other resists in all cases, but if you have a choice to lose like 10% cold resist and gain 16% chaos, you need to take the chaos for sure.

The plan was not to get more intellect with that node, but it did conveniently allow me to level Concentrated Effect once more. I was going for the increased AOE damage and radius for Rain of Arrows and then finish the build by picking up the remaining health nodes and regen nodes.

I have ~4500 HP

This is what the finished build would look like, note that the remaining points from level 90+ would go toward Inner Force.

I wanted to wait to play duelist till after the changes, but this might convince me otherwise.

Would you change anything for default league?

I'm not sure tbh, I would probably use close to the same spec if I leveled in Default. It's very safe if you don't let a Hamburger distract you.

I forgot I have a burger. Thanks bro. Nice build. Aren't you lacking in dmg?
