Tried to kill her twice, once ok, once no thx.

First I've got a nice rare map without any dangerous mod except unique boss more dmg and speed. Well, that was no fun fight.
My Char - 7.5K IW Incinerate

- on the first try i took hit for 4k off screen. Just NO, fck that :D

- on the second try, white map, no tempest, just wanted to try how much hits. Well. Still like a truck. Largest hit was around 3k, which is a lot since it can hit you offscreen. It is barrage like skill so i am not sure if i wasn't hit multiple times. So ...
Since she sprays from one direction to another , all that is necessary is to move clockwise when she does that skill. It still hurts, but it prevents multiple hits. Too bad that i have to stand with incinerate and she moves all the time like a madafaka.

That is probably the only complaint - the behavior pattern and her movement speed. Queens are supposed to be slow but powerful - like the queen from SC2 :)
If i would play melee, it would be piece of cake with Fortitude and life leech. Cannot oneshot, not dangerous.

difficult is one thing , but i think ggg really needs to examine their bosses in relation to their map level.


i mean yeah srs and builds like that will beat them .. because well.. that is kind of exactly what srs does best .. killing bosses with a spam of disposable high damage minions that act independent of user input.

but not everyone can cheese a boss like that. and considering these are low maps that offer low exp as well the fact that death penalty is quite harsh is only going to lead to people skipping act 4 tile-set maps in favor of the easier safer , but no less rewarding maps of the old tile sets.

I have a lot less difficulty beating a lvl76 Residence Dominus than the boss in Phantasmagoria.

Another good design, GGG ! I always think none of your decisions can surprise me anymore, but you still manage to baffle me.
I want to weigh in here and say that I cannot scratch this boss. It oneshots my LA Ranger from any angle, any range - I know my build is light (lv86, 3.5kHP, evade-based) but bosses shouldn't be able to do that - if I could see it firing I could line up a dodge of some kind but it can hit me from off-screen, and it moves far too fast to really do anything about the attack.

Putting you in a tiny room with something that summons 40+ adds to block your movement along with things on the ground that make you wheel around them unpredictably is bad enough. Put in a boss that sprays that tiny room with giant red balls of death that slow you down, and then have it spam a giant laser that does a 1080 every 10 seconds and kills you instantly with overcapped resists, 16% chaos res, and 6k+ hp is pretty ridiculous. Its a visual mess to look at, not unlike Malachai, and it breaks down to running in circles constantly while getting crap tossed in your way instead of attacking the boss.

This isn't Mario Kart. Shock and Awe works as an encounter because it doesn't fire its laser constantly, and it has cover to get behind. Even if it hits you, you don't just die instantly. You can't just stand there either because of the thunderstorms. It is a tense fight, but its fun.

I can fully appreciate that Atziri, Uber, and map bosses higher than Courtyard are beyond my build and that when they say that they are for "top builds" they mean it. I'm simply able to run yellow maps with difficult mods consistently, bosses included, and have fun doing it.

I simply find it disappointing that an otherwise great game has a few glaring encounters that even if the damage were nerfed, would still be no fun. In the case of Tormenting Temptress it does very little damage, but its so annoying there is really no incentive to kill it. It just makes you go "I see what you did there" and leave.

This process of adding a boss, having it kill everyone but the top 20 players, then nerfing it a few weeks later is getting silly.

Just moving a damage slider down does not make a fight better designed. I was amazed at how improved Brutus and Merveil became when they were changed, I'm hoping for similar eventually with some of these other new bosses.


good ideas. for malform making the room larger and putting some cover to break line of sight of the 1080 laser would help. like torture chamber you mention.

still not gonna be of much help for us summoners. minions don't understand how to avoid the laser and will die immediately. i have to skip this boss on my summoner.

for phantasmagoria i don't know. the boss killed me instantly twice as lvl 90 summoner with 4k life, 2k es and mom + arctic armour. is it chaos damage? i have -15 chaos res. it's a 71 map so it's pretty high damage for that low map :)

It wasn't too bad on my life gain on hit reaver but too dangerous to do all the time.

So... at 6:10 you received a hit that dealt 5900 damage through fortify, AA and 7 EC.

And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.

this boss isn't remotely as hard as atziri
killed it by just keeping my mouse button pressed

honestly if you have decent wave clear this boss realy isn't that hard

Boss is clearly overtunned. Compare to any other thing, and there you have it.

Just another map-boss to skip. The list starts to be VERY long, but what else can you do? GGG ain't planning on changing them. Also, don't give them ideas, or else they will change the reasonable bosses to some overtunned crap like this. :V
