A Very Unpleasent Experience

OP's username already hints to us that he/she is an undercover agent from Diablo 3 to pull players over.

Yeah, nice post OP....

Again you could have read the release notes more clearly, that would have helped a bit.

But yeah, reduce mana no longer works for aura's. Now you have to use the enlighten gem.
And yes, life and mana leech was change and again it clearly says so in the release notes.

But with the free full respec you got, it should be able to reroll your witch into a good char again because I belive the Freeze Pulse skill was buffed.

yeah enlighten good call, used to run 2 60"s and a 40%, now evan with lower % can only run 1 60% and 2 40%'s with lvl 2 enlighten. wow thats a good move. nerf

enlighten can never replace lvl 20 red mana gem. nerf

developer notes going to increase man preserv on tree not done

enlight will be used because 1 reason not everyone has access to red man gem...seriously a reason

yes change is part of the game, and we deal with it but if you frustrate so many people they wont return and while others dont care GGG should, because after all they ARE a business and need funding. Why else would they push 2.0 with so many problems known in beta and be allowed to go live...oh yeah to make a ton of MTX. like I said a business. Try to keep alot of your customers happy, you can't please everyone, but try not to piss off alot of returning players who have $$$ to possibly spend. Thats what a business should do. Lets face it anyne who started a new character over to see how hard it is, normal difficulty is on crack. used to be 3-5 mobs in a pack, now its like 6-8 alot of times. and dmg increased. what fun is it to alot of new players to die alot that don't know POE well enough. Isnt normal supposed to be used to learn the game not learn how to appear in town. Cmon GGG how can that be fun.

Can someone please translate this to English?

Just because your characters are permanent on standard doesn't mean their efficacy is. The game changes. Builds come and go. Item values rise and fall. Innocent bystander characters will be killed as GGG attempt time and again to hit this 'moving target' they call balance.

If that was exactly the case that wouldn't be a problem. Thing is, for example, with ONLY the ailment changes in this patch, at least ~10 builds I know of stopped being viable.

If the number of build variations and choices is reduced instead of increased in the end, it is extremely bad for the game no matter how you see it. This is the game's selling point, at least for the most of us.
Life leech as a Frozen Pulse witch is totally not worth it right now - it's completely null. It wasn't ALL that awesome - but it was ok before the change. 2% Life leech is not that great for a GMP Frozen Pulse witch. It was just about enough to be useful. I had to now scrap it off completely because it leeched about 20 ES per pulse which is ridiculous, and I'm doing 125k DPS (25k per pulse * 5)

Anywayz, it's just really annoying to find out that your build is completely rekt on so many levels it's just wrong. Mana reservation through Enlightenment is nothing to be compared to what we had. I have a level 2 En gem which needs about 1.2 billion XP to lvl to 3. It gives so little it's not even worth it using it. What kind of balance decision takes 80% (!!!!) off the efficiency of something? It completely boggles my mind. Reminds me when Blizzard made Life/Mana Leech on D2X totally useless at some point as well in Hell difficulty (which had become about 1/8 of its value and nearly useless)

I do appreciate the new patch - a lot of the content is really cool and inviting, but it's just so irritating something I work for so much has been so greatly nerfed. To all of those who said "you can't read" - I don't see how it would have changed anything if I read it instead of just logging in and seeing it in action. Would it make the changes go away? Absolutely not! So that point is kind of mute. So what if I could read it in the patch notes? it means nothing!
I'm enjoying the current league and balance except for reduced mana not working on auras.

Imstead I said, fuck it, built a regen and leech whore. If I can't be one shot, too bad.

I put a piece of tape on my right click and wonder around until i get bored.

Fanboys still think that GGG are increasing the amount of build... Lol. CI and low life builds are so inefficient now, they've killed off an entire species of this game. It's sooooo hard to run a low life/ CI after 2.0, all the new balance decisions and the drawn back make you scratch your head all the time asking yourself: "Should I drop this shit? It's no good anymore! Or did I make something wrong? My god I can't be wrong, it's a lot of money!" But why do I care about that anyway? You just need to pick a to go life base build and face roll with Fortify, shit tons of armor, run the AA... woohoo the game is so cool, such diversity you see?

No thank you OP!

Thank you for being so thoughtful for the rest of us. Thanks for letting GGG know, that making the game more balanced and increase the amount of viable build choices is utterly horrific for all of us. How hard can it be to understand; that all we want is to let the game stay exactly the same for the rest of time so that we don’t have to worry about our single charter being nerfed in between our sporadic ventures with the game, once every few months. Forcing us to come up with new strategies and maybe even... *shudders* have to REROLL!

"Balance"? Every change the man listed are examples of bad decisions during the beta that have pushed things away from balanced.
Keep PoE2 Difficult.
I agree. GGG screwed up big time with balance. Nerfed so many good builds and all we got is totems and armor builds

Actually, they removed shotgunning so you only deal 25k.

New leech mechanics supposedly make it ok vs groups but weak vs single target without vaal pact(which is now in the shadow area). This is because it's called at 2% of your max life/es per hit but multiple hits now stack.

You made a character that exploited just about everything that a character could exploit. You'll do it again, just as soon as someone tells you what's worth exploiting. And you'll complain again when that build gets changed.

The circle of life.
