Didn't Chris say that they wouldn't introduce new higher tier item mods?

From what I heard the rulers of trading such as axn are very hesitant to even make the new T1's which is understandable.

So wouldn't that mean their current mirrored gear will remain top available? Unless somebody else wants to go through all the trouble to craft better gear, the current stuff will maintain its value.

I don't even know anymore.

You can talk about how the reaction of most people about the new T1s is totally overblown, because it is. However you also can't discount what StDrakeX is saying about the new T1s being totally pointless. They are. As it is, a perfectly geared character on live will be able to effortlessly crush everything the new expansion is bringing. Those new T1s are not needed to handle that content and are not something that the average player is going to be attaining.

They are even less likely to be utilized on temporary leagues in any meaningful way as something that must exist to combat content. The player power needed to combat all content in beta is already there, there was no real need for new T1s. Sidegrade mods would have been a better investment, entirely new ones and adjustments of existing ones.

i see it exactly the same, yet i think that makes the complaining even more unnecessary than if these upgrades DID mean anything.

because these new tiers mean nothing, that means that those who care about this issue only care about value; not strength or versatility. and in standard at least, those who have the items that are deeply affected by these worthless mods have essentially "won" the economy a long time ago.

and because of their profound value, they are almost guaranteed to be the winners of the new economy. this patch is less of a destabilization of the economy, and more of an extra bonus round for the people who own 20 or more mirror's worth of shit.

so at the end of the day, this is all merely a small speed bump for them. a period of a month where their goods lose a bit of their value, which will quickly be recouped in under 3 weeks when the patch hits.

so why do they really care? why does any of this matter?

secondly; when and why did a thread originally about whether or not the head developer was a liar, turn into a thread where people bitched and moaned about their imaginary business selling imaginary items losing imaginary value for a temporary amount of time? how do they not realize that is how actual businesses selling actual items actually work in an permanently evolving economy?

and lastly; how the hell do people keep questioning the official response about this topic by a GGG affiliate as if he was wrong about his own company's policy?

it's time to remove the Mirror from the game, so nobody will care about 6x T1 items

edit: btw, actual bis weapons will be 4x T1 after the patch because there aren't new mods for att speed (except wands and bows), crit and flat physic

Then they would still be 6t1 - the old affixes will remain tier 1 for those items. The items will still need crafted, and the rolls are ridiculously hard to get still.
