If only GGG took my advice earlier. Better late than never I guess :)
Joking aside, it's an impressive feat implementing such an entirely different model so late in development (and in such a relatively short period of time).
Jonathan deserves some serious credit.

Yet here we are. If anyone hasn't realized by now, GGG has their reputation because they DO listen, and they DO something when it can be done. Rewriting the network code? No one thought it would be done, even Chris felt it was the wrong type of network model for an ARPG. But that is what complaining is for. To sway GGG's preconceived notions. To make them stop, go "wow, a LOT of people are complaining, our game has a reputation for having the worst desync, maybe we should do something drastic". And it worked.
No, there's a world of difference between meaningful criticism and complaining.
There were only a handful of people, near as I could tell, that knew what they were talking about and realized that desync was a fixable problem in context of what GGG was trying to achieve with POE.
Just because you happen to be right about your complaints doesn't mean you aren't throwing a hissy fit or contributing.

Exactly. Thats why those "fix desync" posts and threads should have gotten people on probation, they were non constructive, annoying and rude and completely out of line. It was brought up, it was talked about, people should have understood it would be fixed at some point.
Now it is fixed and only 1 apology thread exists, where countless people should be in here saying thx to GGG and saying sorry for the constant whining.

Oh Dirk, never change...
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

yeah perhaps,
if they ever let him off probation that is....
I'm okay with him staying on probate, he's excellent at constantly feeding total rubbish to the forums.

they promised to improve sync many months ago and kept pushing
back updates about it... we're still working on it they said...
they opened this whole can of worms, and developed lockstep before
they were prepared to announce what they had been up to.
I respect that a lot. we were lost for a while but ggg didnt want
to open their mouths until they were confident they were not fucking
up, and had something concrete to tell us about.
glad to see this promise being met and arguably above expectations.
I have growing confidence that trading systems will be improved
eventually. I doubt it will be soon tho, but it will probably be good.
