I sincerely apologize for saying desync will never be fixed

I don't. GGG said it will never be fixed. GGG were the only ones who could fix it. So it was safe to assume that it will never be fixed. Logic.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
Lockstep rocks. I never desynced that much ( :) ) but it's been nice still

No they didn't, they said it'd take a lot of work to fix.

#1 complaint they hear from the moment they woke up to the moment they went to bed at night. A defect that isn't excusable at all.

The pressure to fix it has to be immense.

I know that post, that's why I said what I said. "Why desync has to exist and why rubber-banding is good" says it all.

A sincere, specific apology is the best kind. For many folks, even an insincere, vague "sorry" is almost too much to muster. It takes a certain amount of moral courage to admit when one has been wrong about something, so, necessary or not, I applaud the OP. =^[.]^=

There's still rubber banding during lockstep it just isn't obvious since it's happening all the time.

That's a physical requirement of the universe we happen to inhabit. At least until some randian superman appears and single handedly kicks reason to the curb and breaks the speed of light.

What you're describing is latency. Rubberbanding is when you teleport around because of latency spikes or packet loss.

Pstt...it's not actualy fixed what with predictive mode still in the game.
And lockstep needs a solid conection...if it's fluctuating a lot and you have lag then you'll still rubberband but rather than teleport you just go into fast forward.

It's still fixed.... Now the problem is no longer on their end, but on the players internet connection. Desync has been eliminated.

Thank you OP, you will forever be the most decent person on this forum. :)

I wouldn't apologize. You were giving good advice based on the information you had at the time. If you stop doing that, if you're really sorry you did that, then you might as well crawl under a rock and never talk to anyone again.

Ive considered it
I dont see any any key!
