More backstory on Piety please

If they haven't fleshed out her character, it would be an awesome chance for a fanfic contest type thing, winner has their lore canonized in the game.

Would also like more back story on her. Also the world in general.
Yes, please! The mechanics are great but the story is weak, presently... we were just discussing this tonight.
I actually like her as she is now. I think more details would ruin the effect. She's enigmatic because we never personally talk to her, but what happens to Clarissa's boyfriend and everything in Lunaris speaks volumes.

I like how she is right now, because your imagination fills in the gaps, painting the most horrifying image for you, personally. If GGG filled in the details on piety's background, she'll just be generic evil antagonist #5362, and no longer the monster you imagined in your own mind.

Just my opinion.

Remember guys, Blizz had much more dough to throw around with their title. And they still managed to mess it up. The plot of D3 doesn't really stand up to the PoE one. All of the things you mention sound nice and could be implemented sparingly in one of the future acts; let's say, in the future Act 4. Once done with the original 3 acts, you enter Act 4 and are presented with some slight twist and a hefty chunk of lore. Maybe in the form of a cutscene or two.
For my part, I've greatly enjoyed the story as is. It fits the setting quite nicely, is sufficiently disturbing and is acted out really well. The V/Os were top-notch and the music is simply amazing.

Voice acting is superb... believe it or not, never heard of the game and the V/O on the you tube beta trailer is what drew me in. Saw it on gamespot of all places, lol.
Piety is such a half-baked McGuffin they're better off creating an entirely new character to develop lore rather than trying to flesh out her train wreck of a character.

Care to elaborate on that?
Playing: BetterInTheDark (S), CrossPurposes (T), DeathOnTheRoad (D), DevilAndDaughter (W), HardAsIron (M), IfYouWantBlood (M), PutTheFingerOnYou (W).

Which part needs further explanation: The part where I suggest they focus on new characters or the part where I suggest Piety not be developed further?

Maybe you should elaborate >=D
Piety is one of the most epicly villainous villains (with incredible voice actress too) I've ever seen. I think she makes Sephiroth look like a sissy and she has the craziness to rival Kefka. But there is little to no info and interaction with her throughout the game. THere need to be more Piety missions throughout the game. I think you underestimated how awesome a bad guy she is.

that's a pretty pessimistic viewpoint if you ask me
I quite like her as a villian, but presentation-wise PoE is very basic - sometimes lacking, even. It took me even quite some time to figure out, that she's the leitmotif of the game, at all. Granted I didn't play everything consecutively, most of all some parts without voice acting back in CB, and thus didn't pay close attention to those parts during OB.

Also, though you seem to run into her wherever trouble is, you never get any idea, what she's working towards or what you are actually trying to prevent. Admittedly a whole backstory could be counterproductive, but I'd like to be able to find some lab reports of her twisted experiments in Lunaris Temple, for example. It would enhance the grisly mood and perhaps even give the player some personal motivation to stop her.
