Price on poe.trade is asetting a fixed price. i.e. no negotiation this is what it is. "buyout" states negotiation is on the table. However, in this game b/o usually means this is the price. Higher end items may have some wiggle room.

Not true. Maybe this is so for some sellers, but as a buyer, a smart buyer would always try to bargain and get a better price, unless the b/o is really that insignificant to you and/or the item is that important and you desperately want to buy it. You'd be an idiot not to ATTEMPT at getting anything for lower price. That's part of successful trading and flipping to make money, by the way.

This is the only important thing in a game. Everything else just gets you to this point.
Thanks for all the fish!

I'm not an idiot. I just don't want to waste time playing a trading game when there's a perfectly good actual game to be played. Give me a buyout price and I'll pay it if I want that item. Hell, I'll overpay if you're nice and friendly and expedient.

Probably why I'm not rich in-game, but I'm extremely rich in game enjoyment, so I consider that a win.

I guess I should clarify a bit more, thought it was clear enough what I meant, did but not enough obviously. I'm not saying that anyone is an idiot for not first attempting to get anything at a lower price - hence, the earlier part where I said if price is either insignificant to you, ie., you a) can easily afford it or it's cheap enough b) do not care about the price of the item to begin with, for whatever reason (needs, time etc.). Most of my trading I do not bother to bargain because they're either cheap it's not worth haggling over, or it's something I really want.

What I'm saying which I thought applies more to OP, is if you're price sensitive (price really matters to you) or you're looking to get something of value to profit from it, then you'd be an idiot by not attempting to get it at a lower price than the b/o, it's a simple if you do not try you do not succeed. Just cause POE.TRADE has listed b/o, it does not mean it's set in stone.

This thread predictably turned into a festering pile of shit so I'll still stab at answering you.

Thats very wrong. Poe.trade features items that didnt even sell yet, so in no way is it ever a good representation of what someone should pay for or what one could ask for an item.

I didnt say it very well but you can set a fixed price either on Procurement or in your own thread and it is reflected on poe.trade. In other words, if you arent willing to negotiate, then set a fixed price.
