Why players should start with their weapon in front of them?

Need to make the provided weapon more visible. I've seen two playthroughs (by folks who have been doing playthroughs since before 0.9.3) and they didn't even know they had a weapon available. Fortunately, they managed (a Marauder and a Templar) to get by on bare hands until a weapon dropped. ='[.]'=

My 2 093 chars and their 3 support chars all started with no weapon in the beach.
So all my chars had to kick / punch their way to a weapon.

Not shure if its a bug or what, i made them before 093 - to reserve the name.
Well some of us didn't notice the item on the ground the first time we made a character and went on punching mobs until one dropped....
Or was that just me?

Personally, the default weapon laying on the ground just before me was quite noticeable (and a strange situation too...). On the other hand, finding ways to point the weapon out more than the norm, would possibly end up being ridiculous.

Never the less, I somehow like the fact that some people may have problem with this, as this boosts even more the acceptance and implementation of the no-weapon scenario as described in the original post :P
