I'm disappointed by Chris' reaction to this mess, basically he is focusing everyone's attention to his sudden willingness to bring us QoL features we want but is basically completely disregarding the fact that apparently a significant number of players are using a 100% detectable map hack/cheating tool for quite a while and as it seems, GGG won't be doing anything about that.
Pretty sure something will be done about it and they won't be telling anyone how its going to go down until it already has.
Chris has talked about qol crap in the past and not just in reaction to this ridiculous outpouring of "I cheat and here is my weak reason" garbage.

I would say that using cheats in a non competitive environment is nothing to be blamed for.
But despite that, i dont blame GGG to implement tools to detect cheaters to prevent them from playing in races and trade with other players in particular.
Honestly, if PoE was an offline game, would you care someone is using godmod to finish it ?
This whole story is on the contrary a good thing because PoE definitly lacks in term of QoL stuff (zoom out a bit more, loot filtering, particule effect seems to be the most common thing asked by the player base)
I always been bothered by the FoV of this game. If you run 1024*800 the viewable gamescreen is incredibly small and even in 1600*1200 (my resolution) you are still very very close to your character. And mobs are CHEATING ! How many time have you seen Rhoas almost poping on you from the lowest part of the screen and you could not see them.
If you cannot see them, why could they see you.

is complaining about the field of view an ongoing troll, or are these people actually serious?

How significant actually is it? Can you link me to some data, I'd like to check if it's not just cries over 5 people from a hundred thousand.

Because a game like this is built from the ground up with a fixed view in mind obviously.
Change the distance the camera can be placed and the game itself is changed.
