That's the point. It's not in the game, it's not fair.

Only fool would think that all this stuff happens only because people want to cheat or have unfair advantage over others. This stuff happens for good reasons, and if GGG doesn't care enough to take care of them, people will. Maphacks, and other real abuses aside.
If you were forced to stand on your head, while playing chess, would you discard a game as a whole, play "by the book" or would you try to make game playable for you?
Graphic hacks are these attempts, as well as other things like loot filters and such. They should have been implemented years ago.
Arguing against them, ONLY because someone "hacked" or "broke the rules" is plain stupid.

I fully support the game, but inability to see its flaws and protecting it from any critique does more damage to it, than even hacks. Beacuse of all this GGG maybe, just maybe, finally realize how bad state of those things is, and how damaging they are to the game, and start working on them.

I'm not saying that these hackers all are "white knights" who want good change for the game - they are doing it for themselves (some share their work, so others can enjoy the game as they do). Some are doing it to bot, maphack and other stuff, which is bad. But graphical hacks, because cannot play the game, because it is optimized as crappy as possible?

The cheating in PoE isn't even close to cheating in D2 so yeah it helps :)

Now this is the culprit ...

I'm disappointed by Chris' reaction to this mess, basically he is focusing everyone's attention to his sudden willingness to bring us QoL features we want but is basically completely disregarding the fact that apparently a significant number of players are using a 100% detectable map hack/cheating tool for quite a while and as it seems, GGG won't be doing anything about that.
