Kickstarter Campaign for PoE's Optional Self Found League!

GGG,
I will be blunt...
I play solo. I have played consistently past 4 years. MAPS 71+: Usual procedure is 4 chis, Alch, (chaos: if needed). Over 50+ maps of 71+ this way, none sustained. Currently runing 69's. WHY IS EVERY MAP THAT I CAN RUN, WAY TO EASY FOR MY CHAR?

Due to solo play?

The whole "they can just play X in standard" argument is exactly the same for both HC and SF.

The point has been raised before, and argued before, and debunked before.

Raised and argued, granted; debunked, hardly.

There is, however, one argument against a SFL that I would buy, at least from GGG's perspective: Along with the cost of setting up a permanent league, there is at least one point - the per character stashes - that would require new coding. Not sure about the account binding as I think that is already done with legacy items?

So yeah, as the poster a few posts above noted, it would have to be 'harder than hard core' to fit in GGG's overall vision I guess, and then would also, from a business standpoint, have to bring in enough revenue to pay for the coding, setup, servers, etc. It would take away time and effort from GGG's current projects on what would be a gamble so, would love to see it, not holding my breath.

For the most part, it has been debunked; just not accepted by those who press for SF. The main reason to separate HC and SC is for one reason --> a separate economy. The 2nd reason would be a separate ladder (which means little in permanent leagues after a while). This has been discussed at length before and just not worth rehashing since many in this thread have seen that argument presented. The SF crowd does not accept this argument because they don't care. Not caring has never been a strong foundation for an counter-argument though.
Thanks for all the fish!
no to this crap wanna self found to play standard and don't trade
IGN : Uhigatana
Can't wait to get started in the SFLadder!
I think you should be hoping GGG is saving their money.

I personally have no strong feelings about a SFL, but I can tell you why it probably won't happen. Trading boosts player interaction. Player interaction boosts retention. Finally, retention boosts revenue. Even more simply put, players in a self-found game of this type tend (as a whole) to get bored and quit. A player who quits isn't buying anything from the shop.

Yes, there are certainly people who would play SF for ages, but there's plenty more who think they like the idea, but get bored after trying it for a while. On the whole, I suspect a SFL would probably be a revenue loss for GGG.

Personally, I'd like GGG to thrive, so I think it's a bad idea, but I'm not worried, as I'm sure they're fully aware of the stats.

Question for you. Have you traded at all during your time with the game?

Not a lot, but yes. Not at all relevant to my post, however.

Yeah, I don't think it would be any excuse for Chris (or Qarl, or whomever at GGG) not to actively and consistently *play* PoE if they really have a passion for it, which I believe (hope?) they still do.

I really don't mean to sound like a tool - and I know this does - but I would daresay my and many others players' lives are at least as busy as either Chris' or Qarl's and I/we managed to keep playing PoE for nigh on two years at a fairly constant level. So I don't buy the busyness hypothesis for them not playing. They may just not enjoy it, of course, and that would be consistent with the theory that Chris' vision of what PoE actually is today is different from (some/many) players' real life experience.

P.

pretty much this, i cant even comprehend why they wouldnt play it, honestly in my opinion you shouldnt be let to design a game that you dont even play because you will cock it up, as they have in some cases.

If they would become players they would be tempted to balance the game in how they play, not how they want us to play. It would basically be like cheating.

What? One minute you say that they make a game that they want to play and then this? What?
SFL already almost works. Only thing that is needed is targeted crafting so you can acquire specific gems/uniques that are missing in your build (especially for new players)

Because not all 10 acts are out yet and only when the last act is out the push the upper limit of getting to 100?

And you say you want maps to be harder but getting 1 shot is also bad, so how can content be harder without being one shot?

Dont drag new players into this, i did just fine when i was new and i learned pretty damn fast on how things work. The game has a slow learning curve as it is.
