So much emotions in this thread.

It's just a game.

Some people live their life in a game rather than outside.

I got free champagne today from some event in the city, yea, i had it better i think. :)

Got a cake for fixing technical problems yesterday. Does that count too?

I remember you, you are always taking peoples Sacrifice Sets and Mortal Sets and charge them chaos for a "Service" but then you just kick them out of the party and steal the set and the loot and their currency.

I also know you have an account on a well known RMT website. It's easy to prove, you have all this awesome gear but don't have the skill to level up to 90 with your characters? Such RMT!

You want proof? Give me 10 minutes with Photoshop and I'll give you all the frigging proof you need.

<--- See how easy it is to make shit up?

The Name & Shame policy is NOT (and never has, never will, and never should) be used to protect those actually guilty of screwing over people, but rather to protect people who could be screwed over by those with a grudge.

Put it in perspective, how many people do you think actually scam? A few hundred? A few thousand?

Compare that to how many people talk shit about or to other players - it's a drop in the bucket. The moment you open up the floodgates, the forums will be nothing but people accusing each other of being scammers/botters/RMTers...

Yea, is true. Is sad to see a new player scamed... but You are right anyway.

Sorry.

I'm fairly new to this game.

How can people actually scam in this game?

Don't you have to mouse over the items and accept the trade? Or are we talking about about a different kind of scamming?

I thought the trade system was pretty awesome. Some dude tried to slip me different boots than i paid for (i.e. looked like same blood dance...but lower stats)...simply brought it to his attention and he resolved it.

All of the people I have dealt with in terms of trades have been very quick and pleasant. Having the feeling of being scammed does suck though....so sorry to hear it!

Well, this is a self victimization thread, not a scam thread. Someone made a mistake and the other guy didnt give the gem back. So basically someone scammed himself. And the trading system only works if people use their brains. ;)

Its being misused because the OP made a mistake, its not like the other guy told him to give him that gem with quality. Sure he kept it which was wrong but the OP is wrong as well for not checking and trusting s stranger to give it back let alone the fact that the guy he gave the gems to might not even be "desperate" in the sense the OP might think but just desperate to make a profit.

Hmm, he was given the vaal version of the gem when he was promised a normal one. I see your point if the OP gave the wrong item by mistake, but that's not the case. Is the word scam still being misused?

Still misused.
Why didn't OP checked the gem before pressing "confirm"? Even though he HOVERED OVER it for screen to go "green". And he didn't noticed it was a corrupted gem (like, you know, RED LINE saying "corrupted")?

Nope. Let's blame the other people in own inattentiveness.

Again. This case is far from "scam". It's not even sophisticated enough to be classified as a "scam".

Let's see this situation more closely.
OP actually received 7 chaos orbs and level 18 BloodMagic gem.
The only issue is that BM gem is already corrupted, so the one thing OP won't be able to do is (possibly) get level 21 BM with his own Vaal orb.

Now. Was it really worth such a drama-thread? It's just a game and pixels, grow up please

That goes against the wikipedia definition I quoted earlier. I looked further and couldn't find a single definition that has your criteria, not even from urban dictionary.

What is it based on?

Just do it to other people. There is no policy against it and you can't be called out for it.

It's a "Game Feature"
