Another "i believed a stranger" thread, how cute.
Hey, can you give me 1000 dollars, i gotta make a long distance call, im desperate.
It's not even about "believed to a stranger"
It's pure inattentiveness -_-
Double-check the gem before confirming trade TWICE (by hovering over and clicking confirm)
Nope, still blaming the "evil guy"
I'm tired of such threads, really...
Human stupidity (and moreover, desire to blame others instead of yourself) is endless
Yeah, that too was very odd, yet someone else is being blamed and the word scam being misused to justify self victimization.

I don't know how you two use the words good and evil, but there are definitely people out there who wouldn't have scammed the OP in a similar situation because they don't want to cause harm to others. The people who do want to (immoral) or just don't mind (amoral) causing harm are in general coined as being evil.
Then the word scam means, at least according to wikipedia: "A scam or confidence trick is an attempt to defraud a person or group by gaining their confidence."
And then also according to wikipedia, a confidence trick means this: "A confidence trick (synonyms include confidence scheme, scam and stratagem) is an attempt to defraud a person or group after first gaining their confidence, used in the classical sense of trust. Confidence tricks exploit characteristics of the human psyche such as dishonesty, honesty, vanity, compassion, credulity, irresponsibility, naïveté and greed."
I'm personally totally in agreement that that's what scams are all about, so what gives? Why do you say that the OP wasn't scammed?

Why does support always edit the post, but never leave a link for the OP to the Forum Guidelines and Naming Policy

When did i say its not bad to do that? The OP should have double checked regardless but its astounding how so many jump on the "lets have pity for the OP" band wagon. I gotta make a thread about my bad rng too i guess so i get some pity too.

You quoted a person and agreed with whatever he was saying (that's what it appeared like at the very least), so I lumped you two together. But I wanted you to explain why you think the word scam was being misused. I don't see how it's being misused.

Its being misused because the OP made a mistake, its not like the other guy told him to give him that gem with quality. Sure he kept it which was wrong but the OP is wrong as well for not checking and trusting s stranger to give it back let alone the fact that the guy he gave the gems to might not even be "desperate" in the sense the OP might think but just desperate to make a profit.

Hmm, he was given the vaal version of the gem when he was promised a normal one. I see your point if the OP gave the wrong item by mistake, but that's not the case. Is the word scam still being misused?

This is the way the devs want people to play the game. Just do it to someone else and it's all good. Don't worry about someone calling you out on it. they will immediately delete the post.
There is no reason not to scam in this game. None at all.
It's impossible to be scammed unless willing. Anytime you give someone currency/items in trade pane its on you to make sure exchange is equitable to you. If you give someone something expect it to be a gift and don't look back. You essentially scam yourself being naive giving something for nothing.
Dev don't have time to arbitrate fraud that takes courts years to decide.
Man up ppl don't expect a nanny which is impossible resources wise.

That depends on how you define understaffed. And that also depends greatly on where you got that info.
