Ambush at Zana costs 12 chaos? For 4 strong boxes??
I think the point is that for the solo or casual player it is a feature that will not see much use due to the fact that alot of players even since open/closed beta are not 'at the top of the leagues' and don't have that kind of currency to blow on zana map mods when they're spending what they can just on maps, boxes, gear....
The average player typically gets the shaft because the upper 1% that have everything constantly see the game as fine because it is fine tuned towards their experience more oft than not. Granted there needs to be a degree of that or there would be nothing to strive for... Question for GGG would be is would it be more of a Chaos sink to lower the price or not to find a happy medium? or perhaps where it is at is already there? |

My first run of the mod proved to me that it is not worth it whether I run it once or twenty times. I personally just don't see how 4 extra strong boxes are going to be worth it in the long run unless I get extremely lucky which usually does not happen. This thread is just my opinion. If someone has experiences contrary and would like to change my mind then I welcome that, so far I don't think anyone in here has posted a much better experience running this mod. Just hypothetical situations. Blizzard solved this in D3 by having each player pay the entry fee for rifts and greater rifts.
GGG could easily do the same with zana map mods. Never underestimate what the mod community can do for PoE if you sell an offline client.

I found Ambush specifically very profitable. It would have been even better if I ran them solo or with just one person. I ran it probably 50 times last league. Twice I dealt with "strongbox terrorists" or people who will open a Carto you haven't rolled just to drink your tears.
You can get some bad streaks with nothing but 4 white strongboxes. You will need to have around two rows of chaos orbs before you start running this on every map. I tended to use it on every Shipyard map. Best I can offer is that I will track my use of it this league and report on it at the end. |

Why not add scaled pricing for Zana mods? Ex:Level 70 map, 1 chaos for the Zana mod, level 78 map, 8 chaos. Of course those are just random numbers but I believe GGG could balance it like this and make it a better chaos sink.

God forbid you find the VALUE to be making the map more fun... Yeah, odds are you will not earn your chaos back from the run, but for example, rolling a fractured map and adding the Beyond mod via Zana is probably the most fun I've had playing the game since I started mapping in open beta. Don't do things because you think you'll get currency, do them because it is boring to not do them.

like anything else in poe, the price is balanced by max party size. so 12 chaos/6= 2 chaos per person fee, basic math
2 chaos per person fee is nothing. especially since better chance of cartos. |

Domination is pretty good with pack size maps, mob density and size is already huge around packs and pack size affects it.
